What Texas could seriously consider is exercising our express right to split into as many as five states. If the boundaries are carefully gerrymandered we could have as many as ten conservative Senators.
It is never going to happen, but it is a lot more realistic than trying to secede. Secession did not turn out too well the last time it was tried.
That’s an interesting concept.
It could be a big help to the people in New York too.
Split off the non-big cities and you instantly come up with two more Conservative Senators.
The only problem is, New York City could break up into states the size of the current burroughs, and then you’d have more Liberal Senators as well.
I do think this concept has problems, but it is an interesting concept none the less.
In states with a Conservative majority legislature, you could come up with a number of new mini-states.
Of course the Leftists would respond in Leftist states.
The problem for them right now, is that there are many more Conservative states.
In California, a perceptually Leftist state, as much as 75% of the state could ‘re-state’ and come up with two senators that were Conservative from each.
In the quest for break-aways in California, I’ve always opposed it. This concept may add merit to the idea.
Leftist states senate impact would be lessened. There again, I don’t know how it would break out due to obvious Leftist counter-measures.
The only problem is that the largest cities in Texas are run by Demonrats so that plan may backfire...
