Dr. Ben Carsons brilliance is beyond debate. However, there is a definite reason why I would trust the famed neurosurgeon to operate on my childs brain and not entrust him with the Oval Office.
Now, the former presidential candidate has declared that it is time to put on the table a discussion on whether or not we actually need the Second Amendment.

BTW Carson was right about why victims in a shooting don't fight back and he changed the conversation on its head.
It’s the Bill of Rights, not the Bill of Needs.
Our Bill of Rights is a SYSTEM of rights. Each component has an essential purpose. Remove one and the structure becomes far weaker.
The Second, the Right to Keep and Bear Arms is an essential component that is an UNALIENABLE and pre-existing right. To propose that we “put it on the table” and debate whether we need it or not shows ignorance about its role in the system. It is like proposing to create a human without an immune system under the presumption that he was only going to live in an environment that was clean and had no disease.
From: Democrats Abandon Due Process
“The bearing of arms is a sign of citizenship, which is to say, of being a full participant in government who acts through it, as opposed to subjectship, the state of being a passive being who does not act through government but who is acted upon. In that sense, it is like the ability to vote or to be eligible for service in government. Frederick Douglass understood this linkage perfectly, inasmuch as these ideas were much better understood in those more literate days. A mans rights rest in three boxes, he said. The ballot box, jury box, and the cartridge box. Let no man be kept from the ballot box because of his color. Let no woman be kept from the ballot box because of her sex. The militias contemplated by the Second Amendment were armed citizen volunteers who could act to use the force of arms to keep the peace in an emergency; they are entitled to act in the peacekeeping role generally reserved for the state because, being the citizens of a republic, they are the state, the very seat of its sovereignty....”

I forget what the speech occasion was, but it was right after that speech that he suddenly hit the spotlight. A friend enthusiastically gushed how she’d like him to run for Prez and turned to me for confirmation “Don’t you agree?” I told her I thought he was way out of his league - being a great brain surgeon doesn’t mean he’ll be great at anything else, and if he runs, the politically corrupt system will chew him up and spit him out and make a fool out of him. So far, it looks like he is saving them the trouble. He is his own worst enemy whenever he opens his mouth. Disappointing to witness. Should’ve remained a retired brain surgeon and kept his reputation intact.
wtf. At a time Obama is stacking the feds with terrorists, they want to put the 2A on the table, when it would be time to reinforce it.
NO, Ben ... SHUT UP ! .. !
It would be preferable to me to put the left wing gun control wackos on the table and decide if we need to republic of that plague
I need the 2nd Amendment.
I have no need or use for Ben Carson.
Common sense means consensus, ie any dessenting voice is to be eliminated. The 2A was all about dissent despite “common (non)sense”
Let’s put the Second Amendment on the table:
- Those who want Civil War 2 to start right now, vote to repeal.
- Those who think the United States has a chance to survive without another civil war, vote to keep our most fundamental individual God-given right fully protected as part of the supreme law of the land.
For all his brilliance at the operating table, the guy’s a brain case. Shut up.
When did Dr. Ben Carson become Dr. Ben Dover?
He’s a neurosurgeon after all, not a proctologist.
"Shut up and do brain surgery."
Haha! just saw this comment.
I wouldn’t let Ben Carson near me with a scalpel. He is past his best by date. He’s a loon.
IMHO, the good Dr. Carson was never ready for Prime Time. Though I could see him replacing Oprah.
I always felt he was not a pro-gun supporter. He is a nice guy, but not fit for any position in government.
I said he’s a loon but actually nitwit is better.
