I haven’t watched local or national news for several months now because of the bias against Trump and the pro-Hillary drooling. I get my news from trusted Internet sources. Only read the newspaper at the library and skim thru the biased reports on Trump and and the distorted globalist viewpoint of the media. I am ticked off at Facebook for making me type out the entire name of Trump to bring up his news sites - when I type TR and TRU they bring up links like True Grit which is ridiculous, Facebook is engaging in a childish campaign to bury the well-visited Trump sites.

You know, I once had lunch at a Hollywood eatery with several fairly well-known actors. One of them told me over his Cobb Salad that George Washington was a member of tHe Republican Party. This is the level of intelligence in that town.

We were speaking about this yesterday. In the big cities of the South that I’ve visited, if you overhear restaurant conversations, or get into one with a professional you visit, the level of knowledge or intelligence is (to this SoCal person) startlingly high. Whereas in LA, it is most frequently quite dumb. There are many learned, intelligent people out here, but in general, things are so dumbed down here that I don’t blame visitors for seeing us as the land of flakes and dumb jerks. Public discourse is low, low, low.

Maybe part of it is the language but that isn’t the entire reason. Asking a shop worker in Charleston for an item, the worker will understand you and know a lot about the item. Here in LA the worker will try and repeat the word, not having a clue what the item is, then they won’t know if they carry it, and won’t know how to find out if they do. It’s an apparently acceptable level of competence out here.

Regular news sources talking about Hillary as a normal candidate for President to me is insane. It’s the same as if they were saying

“Today in Podunk, Al Capone spoke to a group of widget manufacturers about comprehensive immigration reform and here’s part of what he said”

Or

“Today Charles Manson Campaigned in Philadelphia and had some words to say about women in the military.”

It’s insane that someone as criminal as she is spoken about with respect by these bubble heads.

Well, I only meant to single out show biz people because the subject of this thread is about a show biz type. Theater people are dumb too but not nearly as dumb as tv & movie people. I think because theater is a much more disciplined art whereas you have all this down time in movies to get into trouble.

I really hate to single out a region of the country for abuse but I understand what you’re saying.
