National Public Radio political correspondent Mara Liasson praised Donald Trumps speech on Wednesday for its effective attacks on Hillary Clinton, calling it the speech Republicans have been waiting 20 years to hear. The presumptive Republican presidential nominee delivered a 41-minute address from his skyscraper in New York, attacking his Democratic rival for corrupt deals while at the State Department, and responding to her own sharp attack on his economic policies the day before. Liasson writes that while the Clinton campaign was already disputing the particulars of Trumps argument, he had made the case against Clinton in a way Republicans have

What wuss you are.
But this speech was simply amazing. First off, Trumps delivery was excellent. He spoke eloquently while still delivering it in the Trump style. What was really stunning, was the way he went for Hillary's throat, but the boot on her neck, and never let it go. Pretty amazing to see that stuff come from a "Republican".
If unquestioning, unblinking, zombielike loyalty to your favorite politician is your thing, then have at it. For me, no one, and I mean NO ONE, is above questioning and expectation.
You are so right, he has SOMETHING that draws people in, I was one during the first days that thought he was a joke, then I became familiar with his kids! I decided because of what fine people his children were to listen to a few of his rallies and BAM he almost immediately WON my heart and I mean in a way that was quite AMAZING!!! Wild horses could not have pulled me away from this candidate I was NOT BUDGING!!!! All of the crap started from the MSM and for the first time I WAS NOT BUDGING, I then discovered MANY, MANY, others were NOT budging either it was like NOT THIS TIME MSM I have never seen this happen before WE have always been so WILLING to just dump our candidate and move onto the next!! I LOVE MR. T. now let’s all MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!!
“I thought Trump looked and sounded presidential. If he takes the high road, he will win.”
Trump called The Beast a criminal and a liar. Classic Trump. I’m sure the GOPe traitors will be out tomorrow, whining that Trump isn’t “presidential.”
He’s gotten better in form and speaking.
Remove the protectionism and big government (rebuilding inner cities) and I’d agree with the headline.
Well, not just yet, at least.
What the hell is up with her, Parkinson's, too much acid, total communist immersion as a 60s hippie chick?
It only takes me a microsecond to switch her off.
When he first commented he was 'thinking hard about running', he was more or less ignored. He'd tried it before and promptly changed his mind. It wasn't until he came down that escalator that we knew this time would be different. He meant it when he said the official words.
From that point on I had no doubts and when waking the following morning found myself on board the Trump Train tooting that whistle when it was found to be necessary. Finding fellow passengers along the route has been a life changing experience. There is 'something' about the man that leads US to believe in AMERICA again.
I thank God every day that he has seen fit to give America this chance to 'reset' and put US on the right path. TRUMP is, from this viewpoint, an inductee in the righteous group of our Founding Fathers.
TRiUMPh
Now that's an image I could have done without.
I was referring to your total ignorance of Trumps track record during the past 12 months as a candidate, and his track record of 4 decades prior to that on the importance of delivering on promises.
Thanks, boomer for the link!
Pinging to whenifhow & lucyt
Outta the park!
‘Bout time someone called shrillary out!
Vote TRUMP!!!
Trump is no Reagan, he's Trump.....an entirely different animal.
He's also going to go down in history as the greatest President of modern times, and perhaps since George Washington.
Just watch.
I stand by my last statement: No one is above questioning and expectation. Track records of victories are not in and of themselves a guarantee for present or future success.
As I have been saying for months, nobody gives a crap about some rules about email. Nobody gives a crap about Benghazi.
Everybody, however, knows you have to pay your taxes and that you can’t take bribes.
With all due respect, American corporations should hopefully have some allegiance to America as well, but that is not always the case. It's not as if all of them are trying their best to make things work in the US, but have been forced to leave because of regulations etc. Some corporations will go anywhere in the world, irrespective of any allegiances or principles, just to get the very cheapest labor they can. I believe they should be free to do whatever they want to do, as long as it doesn't involve exploitation of people. I also believe, however, that if they act entirely in self-interest with no loyalty to the US, then we owe them nothing either, and should act in our own self-interest by buying squat from them.
What Trump is doing that is revolutionary is beating the crap out of the '60s and '70s-era "government programs" (EPA, HUD, etc.) that were basically created to placate rioting hippies. He is also lobbing accurate shots at those '60s and '70s rioting hippies who are now in government.
Try a little experiment. Watch a few "All in the Family" reruns and then listen to a Hillary! speech. Her "issues" are all circa-1974. These "progressives" (Ha!) cannot ever let these issues go lest they lose their power. That's why they stoke the fires of "racism" and "sexism" constantly -- as if nothing has been done to address them in 50 years.
Trump is not only determined to Make America Great Again, he is also working diligently to bring this government into an efficient, realistic 21st century, where it belongs.
Dang, where has this speech writer been?! Give him/her a BIG bonus and don’t let them get away.
Reagan is included in “modern times” in my book.
