"In the concentration camps, some Jews identified with the Nazis and shoved each other into ovens."

This is not accurate. There were Jews in concentration camps who helped dispose of bodies but it was not because they "identified with the Nazis".

"Sonderkommando members did not participate directly in killing; that responsibility was reserved for the guards, while the Sonderkommandos' primary responsibility was disposing of the corpses. ... They had no way to refuse or resign other than by committing suicide." - Wikipedia

You are correct. The Jews were not like the millions of others who can best be described (as in the book by the same name), Hitler's willing executioners”.

They had no choice. Jews have ALWAYS had this problem since time immemorial:

I think the explanation can be best described thus:

Jews who move away from their tradition, outlook, religious observance, belief in G-d, belief in what is stated in the TORAH, study and deeply entrenched rich culture are doing what is called “Assimilating”.

Assimilation takes many forms but all patterns of assimilation involve:

1) Self-ignorance
2) Shame and embarrassment at being a Jew
3) Trying to please non-Jews and imitating their ways, customs, laws and practices.
4) Dropping Jewish traditional customs.
Accepting the labels of antisemitism and early Christian dogma.
5) Championing all other cause and movements except your own (Judaism and Zionism).
6) Ongoing effort to show non-Jews that you're not like “those” (other) types of Jews, you know those snobby clannish ones!
7) Distancing yourself from the modern state of Israel and actually going out of your way to support Israel's enemies who are wrapped up in the Post-Colonial-Occupation flag while condoning the murder of your fellow Jews.
8)All of the above are present today, stronger than at any other time in history. Those Jews that fall into this trap have to answer one main question for themselves and for the future:
Is being Jewish worth it to me? Does it have value in and of itself?
If not, I disappear into the flood waters of human assimilation, thus losing 6,000 years of precious history and glorious tradition or...KEEP IT, LOVE IT, EMBRACE IT and LEARN. If they chose the latter, they will support their fellow Jews and the State of Israel. If they chose the former, it is all over for them as Jews but while they are going down, they try to take the earnest Jews down with them. THIS is their new tradition, ignorance and destruction...
