A police officer in Florida has revealed that Omar Mateen was targeted by an FBI informant in a failed attempt to push him to commit a terror attack. ___
The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation tried to “lure” Orlando shooter Omar Mateen into committing a terror plot in 2013 through the planting of an informant in his life, revelations that raise serious questions about the FBI’s indirect role in shaping the recent Orlando terror attack through its entrapment policies.
In an exclusive interview published June 15, Sheriff Ken Mascara of Florida’s St. Lucie County told the Vero Beach Press Journal that the FBI dispatched an informant to “lure Omar into some kind of act” but he “did not bite.”
The plan, Mascara said, came after Mateen had threatened a courthouse deputy by saying he could order al-Qaida operatives to kill his family.

According to the Vero Beach Press Journal, Mateen threatened a St. Lucie County Sheriff’s deputy in 2013 while Mateen, a G4S security guard, was on patrol at the county courthouse. Sheriff Ken Mascara said Mateen invoked Al-Qaeda and praised a mass shooter:
“Omar became very agitated and made a comment that he could have al-Qaida kill my employee and his family… He followed it up with very disturbing comments about women and followed it up with very disturbing comments about Jews and then went on to say that the Fort Hood shooter was justified in his actions.”
I'm wondering if this story is going to be as awful as Benghazi.

IOW, that's why they didn't follow up the gun store owner who denied his bullet-proof vests.

The FBI and CIA had very thick files on the guy—he probably was sent to Russia as a CIA undercover agent.
His case officer at the CIA was James Jesus Angleton—chief of counter-intelligence who specialized in intricate plots.
Maybe there is a new Angleton in some dark corner of DC.
I suspect it wasn’t a case of not biting, but of not having received the signal to move forward with his assignment from his ISIS handlers. Or however the signal was set up.
I have a really bad feeling about this.
