Known history of wife abuse? Sorry, not a man in my book. A wife is the most precious blessing God has to offer. A male who does not get that is no man. Just a beast who needs to be put down.

In the olden days such a “man” would be flogged. Then a bunch of busy body women decided flogging was “bad” and petitioned the courts to have it treated as a common crime with jail time but no flogging.

Pedestalization of women is the downfall of civilization. Women can be gifts, or they can be nightmares. God made men physically dominant over women for a reason. While I would never condone a man beating his wife, some level of physical control and punishment may be warranted for the more unruly ones. For example, a good hard spanking would not necessarily be out of the question. That's in the real world, of course. We live in feminist fantasy land now.

Amen to that. I loved the scene in “The Godfather” where Sonny Corleone administers some gentle, supportive, positive psychotherapy to his wife beating brother in law.
