Neil Steinberg will object... but but but people can buy guns outside of Chicago...
ok...
Then how about Paris? France with some of the strictest gun control laws in the world... and not one law stopped the slaughter there... how about that Neil..
To me if the country is going to debate gun controls perhaps the debate should center on giving away US citizenship to potential terrorists.
Never, EVER, tempt me with candy corn.
Well, everything is a blessing. The “ex” part, in your case. I won’t inquire about the painful details but it bears repeating that without 400 years of Egyptian slavery the family of Abraham and Isaac would not have become Israel. God can make great blessings from much suffering. Those doing the suffering probably find it hard to grasp but still true.
I am sure your experience has given you this much. Now you know what a good wife looks like having spent some time wrestling a treacherous serpent.
Here, I had paperwork. A federal form asking, was I an illegal alien? No. Was I a fugitive? Again no. Had I ever been convicted on charges of domestic abuse? No. Handed over my credit card: $842.50. Another $40 for the instructor to acquaint me with the gun the next day.
-—snip-—
A few hours later, Maxon sent the newspaper a lengthy statement, the key part being: it was uncovered that Mr. Steinberg has an admitted history of alcohol abuse, and a charge for domestic battery involving his wife.
So the reporter lied on the forms for purchasing a weapon. My bet is those forms carry written wording indicating that lying on them is a felony.
I’m glad I read this story. If I hadn’t I’d never have known that the reason I own guns is because I’m afraid. Thanks for clearing that up Neil
Generally speaking, it’s best to make one’s first gun a .22
On the other hand, times being what they are...
fluffy fluffy clouds in the valley of death, huh.
you know what kind of man really enjoys theatrics like that..?
a gay man.
a lisping, eye-rolling passive gay man.
In 1972 I worked a summer while in college in a mine. We had 5 man crews and my father told me I was lucky I had landed a spot on one of the best crews in the mine. I had shoulder length hippy hair at the time but I was a wiry 6 foot tall, 150 lbs of muscle. The crew was pretty good to me and my nickname was, wait for it, “hippy”. The “Mexican” and I used to have fun with the guys talking crap but we all knew it was crap. We knew we spent hours every day 800 feet underground and we depended on each other for survival should things go South.
Turns out I got the spot because the 20 something guy before me played around on his wife one time too many so she tucked the sheets in all around him while he was drunk/sleeping and beat him to death with a rolling pin. I got married within a couple weeks of starting the job and the crew used to tease me about making sure she didn’t have a rolling pin.
I eventually agreed she could have a rolling pin. That was 43 years ago next month. We made a deal in the beginning. I would never harm her and she would never harm me. Love, honor, and obey comes after “ polite”.
It seems to me if you can’t be polite to each other you both need to move on or find Jesus or something because that right there is a big red flag to me. If a couple can’t be polite to each other they both need to take a step back and come up with something different before some one gets hurt. Usually the children.
It seems his twin trips should have been enough to raise suspicions:

I have a better idea, anyway...
Attempting to purchase a firearm under false pretenses or lying on your NICS should have subjected him to arrest.
Was he ever convicted? Anyone can be accused.
I agree, everyone should have a Marlin 60
Lovely rifle. I, personally, favor a Ruger 10/22, but, alas, mine fell in the lake as a result of that boating accident....
Like I posted. If you can’t be polite to one another it is a sign things need to change. I’m not sure if you are serious about the spanking part or not. I know if I was a wife there would be only ONE “spanking” and that would be the end. A second attempt to approach me anywhere would be fatal.
Did the reporter lie on his 4473? One of the questions is, Are you a habitual drunkard? If the guy is an alcoholic, does he qualify?
