TWA 800: How the CIA Hijacked the FBI Investigation
American Thinker ^ | June 14, 2016 | Jack Cashill

Posted on 06/14/2016 4:25:56 PM PDT by Kaslin

Within hours of the crash of TWA Flight 800 off the Long Island coast on July 17, 1996, the FBI seized control of the investigation from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB). Although illegal, this was done in full view of an indifferent media.

What the media did not see was the CIA’s illegal seizure of the investigation from both the NTSB and FBI. We know about this quiet coup now thanks to a treasure trove of CIA documents recently unearthed through the Freedom of Information Act separately by attorney John Clarke and physicist Tom Stalcup.

In a July 30, 1996, internal CIA memo, headlined “Hold the Press,” a CIA analyst warned his unnamed superior of an impending FBI report on a likely missile strike. This was less than two weeks after the July 17 crash.

After interviewing 144 witnesses, the FBI missile team insisted there was a “high probability” that a surface-to-air missile destroyed the airplane. According to the FBI report, the evidence was “overwhelming.” The witnesses were “excellent” and their testimony “too consistent” for the cause to be anything other than a missile.

From the beginning, the CIA’s job was to make all talk of missiles go away. Less than two weeks after the crash, the CIA analyst boasted to his superior of how he discouraged the FBI from pursuing the missile angle. In fact, the FBI did not go public with this report at the time even though it had “only minor corrections left to make,” and the CIA made sure it never would.

The plane was shot down. It was likely a navy mishap.

It was not a navy mishap. It was a deliberate act of revenge by foreign agents.

The “center fuel tank explosion” idea was always particularly lame. With more than 1500 of those aircraft built over a period from 1968 to the present day, many of them operated by low maintenance budget airlines and cargo services, it beggers all sense of credulity that the only time this type of explosion has occurred was on a well maintained aircraft operated by one of the world’s premier airlines.

Think about it. Has anyone ever heard of any other 747 going down this way? I’m still surprised that Boeing didn’t sue the daylights out of someone for that fraudulent narrative.

That is the single rejoinder that gives me pause.

I do have to admit I’m still a little disappointed and amazed that NOT ONE of the Benghazi 40 —who most likely were totally convinced they would die that night— has gone ahead and blabbed.

And then, the original A-bomb development CITY in New Mexico during WW2, there were almost no leaks.

There was someone on that plane that comrade klinton wanted dead so badly that he was willing to kill a whole planeload of passengers.

The worst part is that he got away with it.

I, too, now think it was the US Navy.

It was not the Navy. Such a thing could not possibly be covered up. It would require a very extensive chain of command to dishonor themselves with deliberate perjury.

Isn't that exactly what Nixon did that got him impeached?

You may be correct. We likely will never know. There was a USN flotilla in the area. Where is their radar data? If people onshore saw missiles why are there no witness from those boats? I detest conspiracies. This was no doubt a cover-up.

One of the few times I doubted Rush Limbaugh’s judgment before his Trump Derangement (another was amnesty in 2006) was his staunch defense of Kallstrom then and to this day. He had met him or something and believed he was a stand-up guy.

No. Too many logistics, too many required participants, too much attention.

I am inclined to believe Clinton would have no compunction about killing people, but in this case he didn't do it.

I saw that too. I was following the reports all night. No doubt in my mind it was a shoot down. Seems like only a few of us saw the report.

I know someone who was in a position to know what happened. I have urged this person to contact Jack Cashill, but this person has no desire to stick this person's neck out.

This person told me that the Clinton administration chain of command ordered this person and other persons to destroy evidence that the plane was shot down by a missile. This person informed me that quite a lot of people are aware of the truth, but nobody is going to admit it because it is a career ender, and probably prosecutable.

Nobody directs and produces a cover-up like Bill and Hillary.

No doubt, and I am so sick of it too, the whole government complex and media complex covering up for the criminals in government.

I've been calling for tribunals for a long time and maybe with Trump, we will live to see the day that justice is served to the American people and to our Constitution.

a blast from the past

From the article:

When I called him a few days later, he was scared to death. He feared the Navy would withdraw his pension if I reported what he had said. It was not possible to convince him that the Navy couldn't do that. Not wanting to worsen his anxiety, his name and other details are being withheld as we try to get his and other interview reports that the FBI has withheld.

This was during the Clinton administration. Do not believe that the "law" would be any constraint on this group of criminals.

What I have been told by someone who was in a position to know, was that Clinton made an executive decision to keep this information from the public, and ordered all branches of the military and all Federal agencies to comply.

Threats of prosecution were issued, threats of job and pension loss were issued.

If the FedGov wants to hurt you, they will hurt you.

The problem with this scenario is that anyone who deliberately set out to shoot down that aircraft wouldn’t have done it so far east when the aircraft would have been flying very high overhead. Someone looking to do this would certainly have positioned themselves further west — closer to JFK Airport where the aircraft departed — since the altitude would have been much lower.

I have a retired truck driver friend who was up that way delivering at the time. He told me he saw the streak rise up in the air, then the explosion, in real time. He swears to this day the plane was shot down and I have no doubt it was.

The problem with that scenario is getting caught. Further to the east is safer for the perpetrators.

Several years ago I read some of Jack Cashill's work on this issue, and he seemingly identifies what sort of missile was fired at the aircraft.

If you have the resources of a wealthy Iranian family, you can get access to weapons that are not readily available to your ordinary run of the mill terrorist.
