It’s likely that they are looking through a political prism. To them it makes no political sense to attack Gays as it would cause outrage from the types of people who have been cavalierly dismissing Radical Islamic Terrorism for political expediency.
Islam wants to be at the top of the progressive pyramid and the gays were the softest target to terrorize first.
