I think you're very close. I would add that the far left has always been too quick and too cooperative with international 'hate america' groups. Years ago I recognized that Progressives avoided the nature of Islamic Terrorists vis-a-vis the persecution of women, gays and Christians.

I came to the conclusion that the reason why was because they would have to agree with the conservatives on something, and that's a no-no. Now the chickens are coming home to roost and they have no where to hide.
