Multiple sclerosis patients who were severely disabled are walking, working and even downhill skiing again following a breakthrough therapy which completely destroys, then rebuilds, the immune system.
The trial, which is the first in the world to show complete long-term remission from the debilitating disease has been hailed by experts as exciting unprecedented, and close to curative.
Although it is unclear what causes MS it is thought that the immune system attacks the protective coating which surrounds nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord leading to inflammation, pain, disability and in severe cases, early death...

None of the above. My Dr killed my B cells and rebooted them. This worked for my bad eye problems.
True and sad.
The article speaks of the patient’s bone-marrow stem cells being transferred to other parts of the body, so they must be speaking of adult stem cells. Besides, given that the word “embryonic” was not included in bold and all-caps, it was obvious that these were adult stem cells. Also, given that this stem-cells treatment actually works, it must have been adult stem cells, since embryonic stem cells have never been found to cure anything despite the gazillions of public dollars spent on such research.

LOL! That would make a great meme!
This is true, I’ve seen your improvements with my own eyes! It’s been incredible to watch as the improvements continue.
As I suspected — for all the reasons you give.
MS is an allergy?
Just unplug it, wait 30 seconds and plug it back in. That should be the manual for everything.
I know for some cancer chemos they are using adult stem cells to make the chemo customized for the individuals.
The need for fetal stem cells is really becoming a non issue for a lot of these diseases.
High dose chemo with Auto stem cell transplant (SCT) rescue has about 2-5 percent mortality (at least for cancer patients ). Allo SCT can have as high as 15-20 percent. That may have more to do with health of paitent, cancer types .... Typically an auto ( own stem cells) are done first or as the key treatment.
They use the high dose chemo to kill all or as much cancer as possible but the down side is they end up killing the immune system (including bone marrow) and the SCT is a rescue treatment.
They noticed, years ago, on aids patients, while treating Aids related cancers that HIV was almost or completely undetectable after HD chemo with SCT Rescue. They played with it using donor stem cells (adult) who had resistance to HIV. long story short looked promising but turned out not to be a cure for HIV.
Makes sense that any autoimmune disease (like leukemia or lymphoma or MS or RA or maybe crones, ...) could be treated with a reboot or new immune system. Cool tech but know a few dead peple from it also.
Bulky DLBC Lymphoma stage 4 @ 37. Not gay just shitty luck. Cured after 8 rounds of chemo including monoclonal antibodies.
Stay free!
BOOKbump
Actually it is. The very first step is to harvest the patient’s own stem cells (hence adult) freeze them to store them, fry the immune system, then put those stem cells back.
