Democrats united behind Clinton, GOP divided on Trump
CNN ^ | June 9, 2016 | Stephen Collinson

The Democratic establishment disarmed Bernie Sanders' political revolution in a swift and ruthless counter coup Thursday, lining up behind its own heir apparent, Hillary Clinton.

"I'm with her," Obama declared in a web video in which the party's ultimate super delegate endorsed Clinton and effectively imposed a truce in an often divisive primary campaign. Hours later, Vice President Joe Biden said "God willing," Clinton would be the next president. Sen. Elizabeth Warren added her voice as well.

It was the kind of mind meld between a party's establishment and its presumptive nominee that has eluded Republicans, with many GOP power players still squirming over Donald Trump's latest controversy -- his comments that a U.S. judge with Mexican ancestry is biased against him.

CNN political commentator David Gergen, an adviser to a string of Republican and Democratic presidents, said he was struck by the contrast between the two parties.

"The Democrats (are) now swiftly and smoothly closing ranks, versus the Republicans in tension and near disarray coming out of the last three weeks," Gergen told CNN's Wolf Blitzer.

“Ryan and McConnell are not loyal Republicans....”

Agreed, and they are not even loyal Americans. If they are successful, they will have helped to destroy this country.

~~Vote Trump 2016~~

We American Voters, have made OUR choice and the RNC/GOP better wake the hell up and tell Congress to wake up as well..

Millions will leave the Republican Party if they continue down the road of ‘replacing Trump with their choice’ We will not stand by and allow that...

SO HEAR US ROAR OR LOSE US AND THE GOP/RNC WILL BE DESTROYED..AND BE NO MORE...

I’ve stated this many times, I’ve been a Registered Republican for 55 years..but I will become an Independent if the Convention does not support the PEOPLE CHOICE.

DONALD J. TRUMP FOR PRESIDENT IN CLEVELAND...CAN YOU HEAR US YET..????

L. O. L. You're buying this?

A rather significant segment of Bernie's supporters will not back Clinton. There's your party unity for ya. Larger segments of Blacks and Hispanics are falling in behind Trump.

Where does Hillary pick up this lost support? NOWHERE!

This belongs in the same file as all those predictions that Trump would not get support from women, Blacks, Hispanics, and a large enough segment of Republicans or Conservatives.

Lest we forget, this is what Trump accomplished despite the myriad of terrible predictions.

So if the republicans are divided on Trump, they are propagating hillary. they are no patriots.. they are for anything that saves their hide and money sources.. their power is more important than anything else. If we could get the people to realize this, we could get congress cleaned out. Dream on... The people are so ignorant it’s embarrassing.

"Elitist Democrats united behind Clinton, GOP Elitists divided on Trump"

Meanwhile, rank and file Republicans, and working class Democrats who want their jobs back are supporting Trump.

Get ready for a landslide we haven't seen since 1984. Suck it, Kristol!

Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!

What an asinine article!! What matters is whose VOTERS unite. Screw ceremonial bonding with Ryan and Turtle neck McConnell. They are absolutely irrelevant.

They’re not tied to party; they want the system shaken up and shaken good. If they can’t get Bernie, they’ll go for Trump.

Hillary! is an antiquated granny who is as relevant to the 21st century as a rerun of “Maude.”

Trump has gotten the highest number of Republican votes in History. By far. He has united the Republican base like it has never been united before. Hillarys vote total has dropped by millions from 2012. She has divided the Democrat’s.

The Democrats are dumping all this on the public in one day. The public will not be talking about this in a week. A wise campaign would have had Warren endorse today. The Vice President endorse tomorrow. That would cover the weekend news cycle. Then the president would endorse next Monday. That would be the lead story for next weeks news cycle. It’s like Clinton giving her foreign policy speech in the middle of the afternoon, when nobody is watching. It’s little things like this that tells me her campaign staff are inept.

“But in a three hour spell of seamless coordination between President Barack Obama and Clinton’s campaign, any lingering aspirations Sanders might have harbored about fighting on until the Democratic convention were squashed before his eyes.”

They run the Democratic Party like the Politburo, but in a dumbed down America, it works.
