Summer madness was the midnight sign off song that the late Alan Almond used on his Detroit radio show. The show was called Pillow Talk. Three hours of love songs and almond’s syrupy baritone.
Some of the songs were well known while others were more obscure.
just be my Lady by Larry Graham was one of my favorites. Special Lady by Ray, Goodman and Brown was another.
The summer madness close out was great and probably listened to by 40% of people awake at midnight. He would read us closing script between the long high notes and finish with I’m going home and I didn’t say sleep.
The station adjusted formats and he lost his show, never to
Land in radio again. He died last year.
Howdy, Kathy.
Hope your day’s going well so far.
WooHoo for you, radu!
I’m very late tonight. Had class and then ate a sammich. :)

Howdy, PRO!
Was it another good movie? You find some goodies.
I’m trying to decide which of the pix I snapped of this evening’s sunset turned out the best. It was a pretty one and they’re all good.
Good evening, radu...any more blood loss?
We might have rain this weekend.
Agree ;) But it is a great song, even if they had to manipulate Gary Lewis singing to within an inch of his tones (or complete lack of tones).
Howdy, LUV.
I was a bit late, too, and this thread’s flying.
Had a pretty sunset so I went out to snap pix. That got me here a little later than usual.
Great tunes, Publius...thanks. ((HUGS))
A Summer Song - absolutely the best!
Hey, I had ALL of Gary Lewis and Playboys albums, bubble gum music of the ‘60’s.
No, no more shocking surprises today. Just the usual ones ..... a couple of hairballs yakked up. LOL
No telling what happened yesterday but everyone’s fine and dandy so as bad as it looked, it must not have been too serious.
All appendages crossed for y’all to get rain.
None in store for us until MAYBE next week.
“Beautiful Girls” by Van Halen. If sun or summer need to be in the title, then Cream’s “Sunshine of Your Love.”
It was a great Polish movie with sub-titles about the Jewish struggles against the Nazis during WWII, a real tear-jerker :-( (but a happy ending)
We barely hit 75 today and a bit of rain is falling now.
Did you ever find the origin of yesterday's mystery?
