But one day i’m gonna understand 3d printing and my head is gonna explode.

You can buy an inexpensive printer and play with it yourself.

10 Affordable 3D Printers You Can Get Right Now

kept eye on stock but they never really did explode.

Which company? The market is really fragmented right now, and it's still a niche market for hobbyists. It reminds me of the personal computer industry in the late 70's. kept eye on stock but they never really did explode.

I know this article is old but still, this was some horrible advice at the time.

Peachy: Was not close to being available “right now” when this article was written. Owners stole over half their money to build his house. They’re done.

MakiBox: Went out of business pretty quickly, was in preorder status when article was written. Totally not available “right now”

Phoenix 3D: Total flop. Was not established at all when article was written.

Buccaneer: Again, huge catastrophe, not established when article was written.

Solidoodle: Was established when article was written, so can’t fault you there. They did just go out of business tho.

Haven’t heard of the other ones except PrintrBot which is a good product.
Kickstarter/Preorder does NOT equal “available”, especially in 3D printing.
