Two undercover police officers at a Donald Trump rally last week said they saw Trump supporters "get punched, kicked and pushed" and "running for their lives," according to a police report.
The plainclothes officers said they did not intervene for fear their own safety would be jeopardized as the estimated 400 protesters developed a "mob mentality."
The officers' observations were included in the arrest report of Antonio Moses Fernandez, 19, of San Jose, who is accused of throwing a metal barrier into a police skirmish line following the Trump rally June 2 outside the San Jose Convention Center. Fernandez made his first court appearance Tuesday and was charged with felony assault on a peace officer with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor resisting, delaying or obstructing an officer, according to court documents.

2 armed with 250 armed backup on scene v 400 punks? Think you are asking the wrong person to “get real.”
These weren’t policemen....they were just mall guards in some fancy uniform.
Probably a quarter of pretender-cops are this way. It’s our own fault for hiring them and thinking they were capable of doing the job.
Quick knocking the cops. The problem was at the top. The Mayor of San Jose, Samuel Liccardo, and the police chief, Edgardo Garcia, obviously gave a stand down order which led to the violence. They ought be removed from office and prosecuted if possible.
San Jose police were there, in person, and here’s what is being asked:
San Jose police are asking anyone with information about physical assaults at the Trump rally or videos of the violence to contact their Assaults Unit at 408-277-4161 or leave a tip with Silicon Valley Crime Stoppers at 408-947-STOP (7867) or svcrimestoppers.org.
Apparently they were too busy standing round, watching the mahem and doing nothing, to take their own videos or photographs.
“...If Trump wins there will bloodshed, riots and God knows what else....”
Not “if”, but “when” he wins.
I say “bring it on” Enough of this BS. IF they want a fight, let’s bring it right to em. It’s way past time, we purged ourselves of these vermin.
“...San Jose police are asking anyone with information...”
I wouldn’t help a SJ LEO if his/her life depended on it...screw em. I wouldn’t crap down their throat if they were starving to death.
Apparently, the people with the authority to call on riot-control police chose not to intervene. Even if these undercover cops had broken cover (which might well have placed them in personal jeopardy); it’s unlikely that the riot-control police would have responded. It seems that the real responsibility for inaction rests with the Mayor and Chief of Police.
“The plainclothes officers said they did not intervene for fear their own safety would be jeopardized....”
Somebody needs to explain to these d-bags that all those donuts weren’t really “free.”
I had heard the Hell’s Angels were mobilizing for the next one. they may be scum bags but they really, really hate flag burners.
yeah although after altmont that might be a tough sell to some...
>>the estimated 400 protesters
There were an estimated 250 police on site. If 250 trained police can’t deal with 400 thug rioters engaged in criminal behavior involving violence towards people at a peaceful political gathering, those police need to turn in their badges and their man cards and take up a profession more suited to their nature. Flower arranging, for instance.
This whole thing is absurd and more than a little scary. This is Brownshirt political action plain and simple, enabled by the local mayor and police chief’s orders for lack of action.
I had a nice chat with my local chief of police Monday. City of about 50k. Told him that the International Association of Chiefs of Police needed to make a statement about San Jose and that chief and mayor, that this is scary stuff, and completely unacceptable. He agreed, is involved in the organization, is going to talk to some folks. I hope it goes somewhere. If we stay on the path we’re on, I see bloodshed.
I agree, and don’t want to see it happen. See my previous post for an idea of how to influence things in the right direction. Peer pressure can be useful. Call your local chiefs and ask them to apply it to their peer in San Jose via the IOCP.
Well then, who was "in fear for their own safety"...the cops, or the Mayor and chief?
Edgardo Garcia, obviously gave a stand down order which led to the violence. They ought be removed from office and prosecuted if possible.
Maybe sued.
It seems that Trump supporters need to assemble as a militia.
yeah although after altmont that might be a tough sell to some...
Who's going to stop them...the cops?
Look up legal police duty to rescue. There is only a duty in 2 or 3 states and CA isn’t one of them. LEO are under no obligation to save anyone and if they claim it was not safe to help someone they are off the hook in every state.
Well said.
You say this as if 20 million dead democrats in retaliation would be a bad thing... A low number, but it's a start.
These cops are a flat out disgrace to the badge
The police chief blamed the Trump supporters.
He wanted them to be hurt or didn’t care and saw it as punishment for their speech.
Both reasons are fascism.
