It’s big news that The Donald has publicly complained about the judge in his Trump University court case and he referred to the judge’s race. My question is — so what?
The reason that so many people think that the American judiciary is somehow above the political fray is a mystery to me. Haven’t people read the U.S. Constitution? Haven’t they read what our founding fathers had to say about the judicial branch? Evidently not.
Why do people think judges are a royal priesthood, a holy nation and above reproach? It can only be due to the absence of a proper education. Even one of the smartest guys I’ve ever met — Newt Gingrich — has gotten it wrong in this case. Another big name in error on this one is U.S. House Speaker Paul Ryan. I’m already on record with friends calling him a troubled young man. The U.S. House has clearly had some judgment problems choosing Speakers in recent years. Anyone hoping for something different than Dennis Hastert and John Boehner have so far been disappointed.
The ignorance surrounding this controversy reminds me of the misunderstanding of the U.S. Constitution regarding the debate over “judicial supremacy.” The need for remedial education never seems to end.
This isn’t about race — it’s about ideology. Based upon their experience, every social conservative should understand that. In the case at hand, the judge’s race is influencing his ideology. How can that be denied based upon the judge’s affiliations?
And when a nominee to the Supreme Court refers to the benefits of her being a “wise Latina,” how is it that we are supposed to ignore the reality of the common race and ideological overlap?
So what if Trump’s language is off a bit (and I’m not sure it actually is by the way). How many times does the point need to be made that Donald Trump is new to politics? He wouldn’t have the Republican presidential nomination if conservatives had not failed to fight in and win battles in the information war.
The judge is suspect. Pointing that out is not racism. It’s realism.
Oh, and as an aside, this article about U.S. Senator Mark Kirk “jumping off of the Trump train” makes me laugh. Kirk is unable to campaign for reelection due to an unfortunate physical disability. He is unable to stand for any length of time and is unable to give speeches. There will be no debates with his Democratic opponent this fall. His opponent, U.S. Rep. Tammy Duckworth, has already won. Why the Illinois Republican Party allowed Kirk’s candidacy to go forward says so much about the Illinois GOP leadership.
Back to Trump and the Hispanic judge. This is why more people should attend Dispatches University. There’s so much to learn — and this university is free. I realize that many “never Trumpers” never seem to fail to find yet one more reason to defend their position — and like so many other things, this, no doubt, will fit in nicely on their list.

Was Donald Trump wrong to point out that the Judge in the Trump University case is Cuban? The fact that the judge and the law firm bringing the suit are associated with La Raza. Sonia Sotomayor, an appeals court judge, seems to think that back ground, gender, and ethnicity do affect judge’s decisions. Judge Sotomayor once said that she felt that a wise Latina woman could make better decisions than a white man.
How transparently phony the criticism of Trump has been in each of the instances that have taken place since he announced his campaign. There is a deep psychological reason behind it all. I believe most of it is comprised of sheer envy. No politician, media pundit, or smart ass has accomplished what Trump has in life so they detest the guy. They feign outrage when he tells the truth, which they are too cowardly to say themselves and then they twist the truth into something bad and bludgeon him with it to try and take him out. It is supreme juvenile behavior by supposed adults who see Trump as someone who is everything they are not - a self-confident, self-accomplished, bigger than life man who who isn’t afraid to say what he thinks. Man, this guy is a breath of fresh air in the smelly cesspool of politics.
I agree. Let's hope he know or can learn what the business of running for president (as opposed to running for the nomination) involves. So far, I haven't seen much of it.

It’s easy. With porous borders America gets all types of illegal immigrants and our ‘system’ is stupid that continually allows this to happen.

I’m sick of hearing about this, and, we can complain, discuss, and overeducate the choir on LaRaza, but if Trump or his campaign doesn’t educate via Twitter or other on what it is or the conflict of interest or anything, then it didn’t happen (the conflict of interest) and the other side won. I usually don’t like getting into the weeds, but Trump needs to in this case.
