The point here is that children born to foreign nationals in the United States, whether here legally or illegally, are not United States citizens.

That is NOT correct. I personally know many legal immigrants children born on US soil have received US citizenship automatically.

That’s the law under the 14th amendment. Did Congress pass a law giving citizenship to children born to foreign nationals?
