I agree with you, there are folks from Iran, Persia, who are good people, not the crazy Iranian folks, but the Persians before Taliban, Radicals took over the country of Iran.

Taliban are Sunnis from Afghanistan/north-western Pakistan and are not in Iran.

Persia is the name of one province of Irans (Pars) and has the language Farsi which is an Irani language. There are other Irani peoples such as:

• Pathans (Afghanistan-PAkistan)
• Tajiks (Tajikistan, Afghanistan)
• Kurds (Turkey, Syria, Iran, Armenia, Turkmenistan)
• Azeris (Azerbaijan, but they speak a Turkic tongue)
• Ossetians (or Alani in Ossetia - Russia/Georgia) - the only Orthodox Irani people
• MAzendanis and other groups in Iran itself

The term "Irani" vis-a-vis "Persian" is like the difference between "German" vis-a-vis "Bavarian"
