McConnell pushes Trump to change
The Hill ^ | June 5, 2016 | Jordain Carney

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) is growing increasingly critical of Donald Trump, warning him to lay off GOP officials and drop his penchant for “name calling.”

McConnell, who endorsed Trump, has been granting a steady stream of interviews to create buzz for his new book “The Long Game.” In the process, he’s leveled some sharp criticism at his party’s presumptive nominee.

Asked about Trump’s tendency to lash out at other Republicans, McConnell retorted, it “ought to stop.” "I don't like that,” he told a Baltimore radio station. “I don't think it adds any value whatsoever to the discourse. And it is something about him that I don't care for.”

He added to MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell that when it comes to Trump, he is “in favor of more scripts, more boring.”

The two Republicans are a study in opposites. McConnell is strategic and disciplined, while Trump has ruffled the feathers of GOP elites with his brash, unpredictable rhetoric.

McConnell has made clear he’d like Trump to get more disciplined, and has taken particular umbrage at the candidate’s tendency to lash out at members of the GOP.

MCConnell is a walking stinking maggot.

The sooner he reaches room temp, the better.

There not enough four letter words available to truly describe the loathsomeness of this humanoid dung beetle.

McConnell makes me ashamed that he’s from the same state as I am. I wish he would just slither away. Or, in the case of a turtle, crawl away.

Here’s a better idea: Let’s change the Senate Majority Leader!

If McTurtle thinks they are going to be able to break and tame Trump to become a step-n-fetch-it for the chamber of commerce like the rest of the GOPers are, he’s in for a big disappointment.

One more item to add to the list to prove the GOPe are just Democrat lite - Rather than go after Obama or Hillary attack your parties front runner.

Hey Mitch, what is it, you afraid a “Republican” might actually win?

McConnell and McCain are Uniparty. They don’t criticize democRATS. They only criticize those who might affect their own little gravy train (playing the part of the loser party on all issues).

Can I phrase it another way, and who am I to tell Trump to change...

However, when he is doing a one on one interview especially with someone from the Financial Media with his salient points he knocks out of the park. The Speech he gave in North Dakota on Energy? Again a home run.

Perhaps noting your policy contrast, your team ( The entire cabinet unveiled at the Convention? ) and what a Trump Administration means for America vs. the Kim Jong Shrill Adminsitration go a long way....

I am a Trump supporter. I like his fight and I like the fact he’s unafraid to take anyone on. I just wish he’d do it more adult.

ANYONE from the Republican old guard, or anyone else who does not like him have no right to criticize Trump for ANYTHING. They’d like to change him over to a traditional political correct individual and that ain’t going to happen... we don’t need another political correct politician who won’t speak truth. When Trump speaks, he goes for the jugular and they can’t stand that. I find it so refreshing and so needed, but their world is full of lies and catering to the powers that be... they don’t know how to just speak the truth to the people. Trump is opening this door and exposing their political way of talking.. which is full of lies and placing themselves in a superior status against the people who they are supposed to serve. It’s humiliating to hear them lie and think we buy it. Trump just says what he thinks... no innuendos.. just truth as he sees it. I love that... and I wish he’d use his skills, his gutsy way, and his camera exposure, in a way that stops them all cold.

Instead of calling hillary names, calmly go over and over what she has done, so they know they are going to hear ‘hillary’ when they start accusing Trump. There is plenty there to sink her... go for the substance jugular. Go after the media’s blatant bias and put the questions they ask, right back at them for not doing the same to hillary. Take every interview as an opportunity to do a commercial of the day on hillary’s misdeeds and the media being afraid to confront her. Put the media on the defensive... never let them accuse and show their bias, without turning it back on them.

Take the position of being the questioner instead of the questionee... remind them that they haven’t commented on hillary’s obvious lies, her email mess which she created... Benghazi where she let 4 men die.. move the media over to where the problem really lies. The people don’t know the extent of hillary’s life and legends... expose her at every chance. Do the same for anyone else who tries to attack.

Don’t let them make you uncomfortable.. make THEM uncomfortable.

Trump can do all this, do it with the stern, unafraid temperament of a strong man on a mission... he will get even more votes as they listen to WHAT he says instead of HOW he says it.

Goes to show you how dumb Mitch is. Change the strategy that got you past 17 contenders and won you the nomination. What a maroon. No wonder the Senate is such a mess.

If it helps Trump, but at the expense of the election of sitting Republican senators, McConnell has no reason to like it.

Trump is TRYING to get the Martinezes etc. to stop go after him at any level. McConnell of course is inviting himself to be called a name. Cruz called McConnell a liar explicitly and publicly, but Trump has called Cruz "Lyin' Ted" repeatedly , so he will have to come up with another name for McConnell.

If the GOP candidate doesn’t start out unpopular with the roughly half of the electorate that tends to vote liberal/Democrat that’s not a good thing.

Being unpopular with that nearly half the country is a plus.

Mc Turdle waged a jihad against the Tea Party. He did nothing to shorten the 3+ year wait the IRS put on conservative groups getting vital 501c exemption for fund raising.

Mc Turdle only attack fellow Republicans just like Ryan-o

Dems don’t attack Obama and neither do Mc Turdle and Ryan-o

They are sabotaging Trump’s chances of winning. We must tell the to STFU
