CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) A former Marine says he was fired from his contract job with Time Warner Cable in Charlotte after he lowered the American flag to half-staff on Memorial Day.
The 29-year-old Thornwell was fired Tuesday. The placement service that arranged the job for Thornwell said Time Warner told them they were disturbed by what was termed his "passion for the flag and (his) political affiliation."

Until good people push back *hard*, this will continue and get worse.
This is political intimidation. Nothing less. They are turning patriots into second class citizens and worse.
This is evolving into a pogrom. The violence inflicted on folks at Trump rallies is going to spread into other areas of life. I guarantee it. In some ways it already has. College campuses.

Thank you for that. Flag decorum is very important, particularly on Memorial Day.

There’s got to be more to this story!

Is that the patriotic young man who got fired? God bless him.
Sending off an email to Time Warner now.

I got rid of Time Warner a couple years ago and got into FIOS. My service is now at least a 100 times better. TWC is the most shitty cable network of all.

In my opinion, these folks don’t realize what a storm they may brew up when real, patriotic Americans have enough of them....

Until good people push back *hard*, this will continue and get worse. Now that this has been made public, maybe the pushback starts now. Let's hope so. It's so much fun to see these libtards try to walk it back.

Dear Time-Warner: It’s the law.
“On Memorial Day the flag should be displayed at half-staff until noon only, then raised to the top of the staff.” 36 U.S.C. sec. 175(m) (United States Flag Code)
