That said, I am inclined to let this slide. There are more serious problems with this nutcase. E.g., he is part of a group that does absolutely nothing for Baltimore, Maryland, or the US.

Actually, these "special privileges" are among the few things you see in Washington that actually have a legitimate Constitutional basis.
The Constitution protects members of Congress from arrest and prosecution (in most cases) while Congress is in session, and while they are traveling on official business.
From Article 1, Section 6 ...
The Senators and Representatives...shall in all Cases, except Treason, Felony, and Breach of the Peace, be privileged from Arrest during their Attendance at the Session of their respective Houses, and in going to and returning from the same ...
Believe it or not, the founders of this country gave so much power to the States that they felt a need to protect members of Congress from arrest and prosecution in neighboring states while traveling to and from Washington.
Always looking for a “deal” or a “program”
Years ago, a Porsche with NC rep plates cut me off and gave me the middle finger.
I called the state information line, explained what happened and many angry people directed me to the NC state rep’s office. I called him and found out it was his daughter.
Why that sorry POS had those plates, I will never know. It wasn’t explained to me but she did call me and apologize.
