actually, the pilot ejected and then the plane crashed
Yes local news (Nashville) is saying it’s a Blue Angel. newschannel5.com wkrn.com are covering.
A fireball and thick black plume of smoke from the crash could be seen just beyond the runway at Smyrna Airport and from Interstate 24."
> A Thunderbird and a Blue Angel in the same day?!
Yeah. This screams for investigation beyond the ordinary.
High Flight
Very sad news.A couple of years ago they appeared at the Air Force Base that my sister lives within a mile of.For a couple of days before the show we got to watch them practice their routines.Watching them made this old Army guy wish he had gone Navy (or Air Force).
The Air Force says the pilot was in jet #6. According to the Thunderbirds’ website, the pilot of jet #6 is Maj. Alex Turner, who is in his first year with the team
Ugh, not a happy ending for the Blue Angel pilot, unlike the Thunderbird pilot.
Brings back bad memories.
I was at Hill AFB in Utah when a Thunderbird died at a performance in 1981.
Local radio guy (@RadioWoody) tweets that the pilot apparently did not eject so as to avoid nearby homes.
Prayers up!
So sad.
This emphasizes Trump’s point about how our military sometimes has to scrounge up old parts from airplane junkyards.
The dark cloud of evil that has been hanging over America since 2009.
Pray for restoration.
This is the kind of thing that happens when God withdraws His graces from a nation that turned away from Him.
Unimaginable courage and character.
No other words but prayer for those he leaves behind.
It is worse than that. Parts are being used that should have been red tagged long ago. They are relying on backups overhauled with the same kind of parts that should have been red tagged. I think they call it value engineering or something like that. Playing the odds with a situaiton that is below standard.
Sad day.
I was in the Navy, aviation in the beginning, and saw the Thunderbirds do an airshow at the Naval Air Station. Never got to see the Blue Angels.
