And the grand reveal is...National Review writer David French? And it's not even confirmed? Don't get me wrong: French is a decorated Iraq war veteran, a strong writer, and a principled conservative whose stalwart commitment to religious liberty is admirable, even if one disagrees from time to time. He's also advanced eloquent, consistent and compelling arguments against both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton throughout the 2016 cycle. He's an impressive man. The impressiveness of his team -- if this presidential run ever actually comes to pass -- remains to be seen. But the notion that a relatively little-known writer could parachute into this race at such a late juncture and have a prayer of winning even a single state is, frankly, preposterous.
David French is the best that Kristol could come up with?! Nobody knows the guy, a complete unknown is supposed to be competitive with Clinton and Trump? Seriously?!
Sweet, the Cuckservative Party now has a candidate!
Tells you what a narrow world Bill Kristol lives in. A pundit wants to run a pundit for president. These people sit around stroking each other, and when the conventional wisdom doesn’t hold up Richard Cohen has an anxiety attack.
I am not poo-pooing his achievements. I am pointing out the obvious silliness of choosing a total unknown to run third party against the two candidates with 100% name recognition.
It shows how badly Mr Kristol’s ill-advised and indeed, downright anti-American*, gambit has cratered.
*Definined as created to help Hillary win just so that Mr Kristol and his fellow pointy-headed establismentarians can retain control of the GOP amongst the flaming ruins of a once-great nation called the United States of America ...
Looks like an attempt to split the pro-life vote if you ask me. Kristol should be ashamed if that is at all possible anymore. See article from Lifenews, a conservative, pro-life publication:
LMAO.. Of all the dumb things Kristol has said and done over the past year.. this beats them all.. It can’t be true...
So Billy Kristol (quasi intellectual comedian) contends he needs to leave the party to save the party. Kinda like ‘I was for something before I was against something’, or having a binder full of women. Kristol needs to register as a 527 working for Hillary - because that is exactly what will happen. So....Kristol supports the Democrats and Hillary by engineering a third party Independent candidate to some day save the GOP after 8 years of Hillary. Is there a straight line to this logic somewhere?
Kritol is not alone ... the genius physicist Steven Hawking has also expressed incredulity at Trump’s rise....
...which sadly (as in Kristol’s case, though I am by no means intimating that his IQ is one-half of Hawking’s) illustrates the extent of each gentleman’s disconnection with the reality of what is actually going on in America, and more specifically how badly the average paycheck-to-paycheck American has been treated by the policies of the last two decades of joint RepubliCrat rule...
ROFL ROFL
The manny from Family Affair???
Can’t we please have a hetero president?? Just this once??
Wouldn’t he be the fourth party after the Republicans, democrats and libertarians?
So has he named carley as his VP yet.
Pray America wakes
I’m willing to bet Mr. French is probably a pretty good guy.
I’m willing to bet that Bill Kristol is a total assclown.
I’m also willing to bet that neither of them has donated tens of thousands of dollars to Hillary Clinton or the Clinton Foundation, unlike some candidates we know.
Just sayin’
Exactly how much dirt do the Clintons have on Krystal anyway?
He will just drain votes from Johnson/Weld.
LOL!!!
As Trump told a late night talk show host when asked about his HRC donations:
“I’m a businessman. As a businessman you have to be nice to everybody.”
Now that he’s in her “line of work” he’s going after her like none of his effete GOP competitors would dream of doing.
I’ll take a fighter like Trumo over the rest of them any day of the week.
David French will be one of the speakers on the National Review cruise. I can imagine Kristol bragging to his cruise ship passengers how he made the elections tough on the candidates who spent millions to get nominated. We are seeing a man who has turned his conservative journey into a exercise of the ego and a way to line his pockets. Not a principled outcome.
Proverbs 16:18 Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.
Yeah, French is a real sweetheart. He knows he can’t win, so he’s trying to help Hillary to do so. Principled conservatism, 2016-style.
