The Justice Department fired back at the Texas judge who ordered its attorneys to undertake ethics classes after finding they misled the court in a high-profile challenge to President Obamas deportation amnesty saying the order was beyond the judges authority and would cost millions to implement.
In a motion filed Tuesday asking for a stay of the order, in which U.S. District Judge Andrew Hanen said DOJ attorneys were intentionally deceptive, government attorneys outlined their objections to both the training requirements and his requirement that by June 10 the Department of Homeland Security turn over identifying information for 50,000 immigrants who entered the United States illegally and are now participants in a government program that shields them from deportation.
The sanctions ordered by the Court far exceed the bounds of appropriate remedies for what this Court concluded were intentional misrepresentations, a conclusion that was reached without proper procedural protections and that lacks sufficient evidentiary support, DOJ attorneys wrote their motion for the stay.

ok instead, put them in jail for contempt of court..
Exactly what they deserve.
The DOJ cares about $? Put the miscreants in the Fed Pen for 5 yr after disbarring them.
Let’s hope the Judge takes them at their word on this motion, Yes I may have overstepped my authority issuing that order, it is rescinded.
I hereby find you in Contempt and sentence you to 120 days in Jail and a $100,000 Fine. Remanded in to Custody. Bailiff take him away.
Do this to EVERY DOJ Lawyer that walks in.
Suddenly, they’re concerned about their budget? They’ve probably blown untold millions on all kinds of frivolous perks, but now they’re frugal? Hilarious! Jail them!
Find the money for these ethics classes by fining the lying lawyers to pay for it. Problem solved.
Obama’s Justice Dept. objects to ethics.
Did these slimeballs even read that judge's reasoning -- because there was pleanty of evidentiary support; in fact, given the conspiracy uncovered to lie to the court [repeatedly] it stands to reason that a criminal investigation into the matter ought to be held.
I don't think ethics classes will work for these liars.
Disbarment would be a better approach. Perhaps hefty fines as well.
But at least the time spent fighting over having to attend ethics classes is time that can't be spent pursuing Obama’s agenda.
Ethics? We don’t need no steenkin’ ethics.
LOL -- I like this.
I think it is actually far more simple: the DOJ and Homeland have approved more applications, and in making the response to the judge’s order, they would actually have to admit that once again they lied to the court.
So now they squabble over the judge’s order, in hopes that this instead becomes the focus.

The Courts (except the Supreme) exist by Congress,
and the DOJ is funded by the House.
The EXEMPT, and always eagerly complicit, GOP
has supported Fast&Furious and the IRS coverup.
Every murder. Every rape. Every Quartering of incurable
disease. And there were scores TODAY.
Kabuki, true. But at the end of every day,
the GOP is on its back, eagerly COMPLICIT.
Nothing will happen to a Democrat DOJ. Rats are exempt and immune.
Yep, disbarment and fines are appropriate in my view.
These turkeys got caught red handed in a conspiracy to lie and did lie to a federal judge, they should never again be allowed to practice law in this country.
Would cost millions to implement?? They’re costing us billions to keep them here.
Judge has the power to have them brought up for disbarrment. Every single one involved. Do it Judge Hanen. Then they have no ethics class to fret about. That includes every person on the paperwork and letterhead. They are responsible. Good way to get rid of Loretta Lynch.
