I upgraded my Tracfone to one with a bigger screen last year. All because the $59.82 phone was marked down to $9.82 (Walmart). I had paid $9.95 for my simple Tracfone two years earlier.

To use all the features, it requires connecting it to Google.

Ask yourself why.......

I got them both upgraded about the same time.

Well, it’s not technically a tax. But it is a mandatory fee on any telecomm service (Telephone, cellular plan, cable,or broadband.).

Now don’t get me wrong, I am all for free internet for libraries and schools and community colleges. And I understand everyone kicking in a little to cover that.

What I don’t understand is why I have to pay for Obamaphone through my cellular bill. Can’t they use internet based email at the library or local unemployment office?

Most modern phones which aren’t Apple or Microsoft based are Android phones.
Android is a Google product using Google services.
Which explains perfectly well why most of its features require a Google connection.
