The description for item No. 689 is simple enough: “Last American Combat Flag Used in the Vietnam War.” But the flag, its colors and gold fringe still bright, fetched $55,000 in an auction staged, ironically enough, just as President Obama was visiting Vietnam earlier this week.
Out of 1,300 items up for auction, the flag brought in the highest bid, besting silent movie star Charlie Chaplin’s signature walking cane and a 1795 nautical chart, among many documents, ephemera and relics. A North Vietnam “victory” flag went for $200.

On inauguration days morning, Trump out the slowly sail up the Potomac on board the USS Iowa for the swearing in and festivities. Let them know in D.C. Trump is coming, backed by tens of millions of American supporters.
Although Rolling Thunder does attend the funerals and help protect the Fallen, it is The Patriot Guard Riders who primarily do that.

Without- hopefully, sounding too pretentious, and using a bit of artistic license-
If I were in Wash., DC, today, I would stand to the side of that Marine, facing him, and render a crisp salute to him, even though that would be against military protocol. I would keep this Marine company throughout his honorable posting.
As the uniformed Marine, in representing all branches of service in this act of respect, salutes his brothers and sisters in arms passing by, I would stand in my “civies” symbolically representing the citizens of the U.S. of A., acting as ambassador, in showing reverence and gratitude to the uniformed defenders of our liberties. PRESENT... ARMS!!!
Of course the reality is that I would not be permitted to stand in that road, as it is for this day, hallowed ground, consecrated by the act of Rolling Thunder honoring the sacrifice of our fallen men and women in uniform, and as such, is reserved for the lone sentry and his cortege.

Chris tried to pitch so many ‘gotchas’ at Corey and Corey was ready, and slammed EACH one back, while they were still in mid air!

I might clarify that Rolling Thunder is comprised of past and present military members (but not in uniform, for the most part) and civilians that have not served in the military, but wish to honor our brave fallen warriors. Also, there are many first responders riding today, that serve in uniforms other than the military type, such as police, firefighters, and paramedics. Plus, there are the hardcore biker types riding today, that share the patriotic values that all of us do, and realize full well the cost of our freedom, and stand shoulder to shoulder with the living to honor the dead, that paid the ultimate price.
