Party platforms don’t mean much anyway.
GOP platform is about as valuable as start up stock instead of a pay check
Thus making them even more irrelevant.
No - see, fellas, the way this works, you gave up the right to dictate any platform planks when you moved heaven and earth to keep the nomination from the guy. You negotiate from a strong position, not from your back in the middle of the ring when your opponent is lifting his gloves in victory. That isn’t the time to offer a tie.
Mr. Key, start practicing the following phrase:
“Would you like fries with that?”
This article doesnt say it but activist groups plan to boycott corporations appearing or supporting the RNC. Thats probably the main reason for this.
Well, you can lead horses to water...
What is it these ASSHATS do not understand about majority rule? We WON, get over it like we had to do for McCain and Romney!!!
They had a platform? Who knew?
And in the end, NOBODY WILL CARE WHAT THE PLATFORM SAYS, only what Trump says.
Don’t the delegates vote on the party platform?
TRUMP and CRUZ delegates will shape an acceptable platform - just like they did in ILLINOIS last week.
This kerfluffle is just the latest element of a pattern — the Party Establishment is pushing the idea that all Trump’s new ideas are going to be Etch-a-Sketched away for the general election.
The platform is completely non-binding on the nominee anyway, so I seriously doubt Trump really gives a flying flip what they put in it.
I think Trump is doing a lot less clinching that some other people these days!
The party just doesnt get it....they don’t matter...we the people have spoken.
When Dole was the nominee he was asked about the abortion plank in the RNC platform, he answered who cares no one reads that thing anyway.
While WE may not care much about the platform, it does provide an overall framework and list of ideas that may be of some guidance to the candidates. And I imagine that the candidates, especially one running for President, can chose to disagree with points of the platform.
In 2012 (and since 1980 iirc), the GOP platform says that abortion is not okay. Mr. Trump believes that it should be allowed for rape, incest and the life of the mother. I can see room for discussion there, but it also wouldn’t surprise me if the platform stays the same, Mr. Trump’s views stay the same, and he gets elected in November and everyone is happy.
Since when has the platform mattered a solitary damn?
As time marches on We the People cannot let up. Not for a day.
We must intensify our efforts to clear the way for a great America. All the way to and beyond the general election, because that’s when the REAL work begins.
Donald Trump is a good man, but he’s only one man.
All of us need to go the distance with The Donald.
Well, good luck with that.
