A medical marijuana legalization bill has been sent to Ohio Gov. John Kasich in an effort by state lawmakers to offset support for a proposed fall ballot measure.
The measure cleared the Ohio Senate by just three votes, and the House followed by OKing Senate changes 67-28.
The proposal, which Kasich has not committed to signing, would bar patients from smoking marijuana or growing it at home, but it would allow its use in vapor form for certain chronic health conditions.
It garnered both support and opposition among Republicans and Democrats. Supporters recalled emotional testimony from chronic pain sufferers and parents of sick children as influencing their decisions to support the legislation.

Legalizing marijuana is criminal. Derivatives of marijuana like Marinol have been available for years.
Marijuana smoke is toxic and carcinogenic far beyond tobacco products. So-called "medical" marijuana just invites misuse, increases negative side effects on the population, and puts more people at risk.
You mean like alcohol and unprotected sex?
Try keeping a pill down while you’re vomiting from your chemo.
Cigarettes should stay legal and the federal government should have no say in where you smoke them.
Leave drug regulation to the states and reassign the DEA to border patrol.
Criminalizing once legal Marijuana is/was criminal. Let me guess, you consider yourself to be one of them there Constitutionalist? smh.
Thank you Mr. Progressive.
