Documents show ‘American Sniper’ Chris Kyle embellished record

Documents show that slain Navy Seal and “American Sniper” author Chris Kyle misrepresented the number of medals he received.

Navy documents obtained by an online magazine through an open records request show that Kyle earned one Silver Star and three Bronze Stars with valor. In his best-selling book, Kyle wrote that he had received two Silver Stars and five Bronze Stars.

A Navy spokeswoman confirmed the validity of the documents and says the armed services branch is investigating the discrepancy.

The Intercept first reported the discrepancy and posted the documents.

Kyle’s widow, Taya Kyle, didn’t immediately return a phone call seeking comment Wednesday.

Kyle, regarded as the deadliest sniper in U.S. military history, was killed in 2013 at a Texas shooting range. A former Marine was convicted in his death.

Kyle has been dead how long? And the media keeps trying to dig up dirt on him. Hillary! commits multiple felonies that undermine national security and its old news. Obama pals around with terrorists and its old news too.

Next they’ll accuse Sergeant York with moonshining.

My guess is that his claim is accurate and the Navy records are not.

They’re killing our heroes.

The objective is to kill our CULTURE.

If Chris Kyle were black THIS WOULD NEVER HAPPEN.

UNDERSTAND what is going on, here.

The Navy needs to correct its records.

MLK plagiarized over half his PhD thesis and he never took ANY legal step to change the first part of his name to “Martin Luther”.

His name was —was ALWAYS— MIKE King.

Charismatic? Yes. Right about rights? Yes.

REAL PhD..?

Eh...NO, Mike didn’t have one.

Exactly. Our son, who lost two limbs in Iraq, just realized there is no Purple Heart on his DD214.

The liberal media hates the military. Period. Anything from them even if it’s true is a lie.

Maybe.

But it bothers me that two of his former commanding officers were asked if he repeated information that he knew to be false, and both of them refused to answer the question. It would have been simple to say “I believe what he claimed is correct” or even “I believe Kyle reported the best information he had.”

My guess is that his claim is accurate and the Navy records are not.

That would be the safest bet, I think. The bureaucratic paper-pushers in the military screw stuff up all the time. Plus, the idea that Kyle would embellish is ridiculous. A SEAL with a Silver Star and three Bronze with a V is not going to feel the need to add on a couple. Why would he? It would be like a six-foot-three guy going around claiming he is six-foot-five. Why bother?

If you look at my service record, it is missing a MUC (Meritorious Unit Citation) that I received. Service records are filled with inaccuracies.

"The objective is to kill our CULTURE."

Been sayin' that for a few years, now

Culture is the way we think, and an American has a unique thought process

Over the years, we've been conditioned to talk like the rest of the world which has infected our thought processes

The ugly American, arrogant and loud ... deserved his attitude ...

He had won WW2 and was now home, a successful (had money) citizen of the greatest nation on earth

THAT'S the fear they have of trump

He's bringin' it back

Also possible that Kyle was decorated for highly classified missions and those awards may not show up in Navy biographies and personnel records that can be released to the public.

During Vietnam, scores of USAF pilots flew for Air America, the CIA’s aerial support operation. Officially, they “resigned” their commissions before joining Air America, but they actually remained on active duty. Their personnel records were moved to a secure area within the USAF Personnel Center. As far as I know, their performance evals and decorations earned while flying with Air America never entered into their “official” records, because so much of what they did was classified.

I will defer to those with more expertise in these areas.

I read the Guardian which considers the great Chris Kyle ‘a coward’. Why? Because he was a sniper. I have some stake in this because my dear mother lost her first husband to a German sniper two weeks before the end of WWII. A disruption in her life that affected her for years. She never said a word against the man who killed her husband and, in fact, lauded him because he made a direct hit which saved her beloved husband undo suffering. That is not to say she wanted her husband (Charlie) dead. She just knew that war was hell and if a loved one had to die, she hoped he would die quickly. He’s buried in the American Cemetery in the Netherlands.

Quick, somebody sue his widow! Just kidding, nobody is low enough to sue a decorated hero’s widow...
