Report: Clinton did not comply with State Dept. records policies
Chicago Sun-Times ^ | 5/25/2016 | Sun-Times Staff

A report by the State Department’s inspector general has concluded that Hillary Clinton did not comply with the agency’s policies on records, Politico is reporting.

The report was released to lawmakers on Wednesday. It also revealed that Clinton and her top aides chose not to cooperate with the inspector general’s review, though current Secretary of State John Kerry and several predecessors were interviewed.

A copy of the report was obtained by POLITICO. While it concludes there are “longstanding, systemic weaknesses” with State Department records — weaknesses that “go well beyond the tenure of any one Secretary of State,” it specifically criticizes Clinton for her exclusive use of private email, according to Politico.

“Therefore, Secretary Clinton should have preserved any Federal records she created and received on her personal account by printing and filing those records with the related files in the Office of the Secretary,” the report states. “At a minimum, Secretary Clinton should have surrendered all emails dealing with Department business before leaving government service and, because she did not do so, she did not comply with the Department’s policies that were implemented in accordance with the Federal Records Act.”

Well, that pretty much wraps that up and we can all move along. Now Hillary can start working on her invitation list for her inaugural ball.

She won't be indicted, but really, the negative publicity (amplified by Trump) is pretty good. We don't want her out of the race. We want her defeated.

She made the grievous error of not complying and will be severely criticized.

True. The media’s too busy with who has ‘the right tone’ to care about who’s breaking the law or selling out the country.

The headline that she did not “comply” with record keeping policies sounds so innocuous when actually is criminal at some of the highest levels of guarding state secrets.

Yawn..... not expecting anything to come of this. No one in the media will even ask her any direct questions about it.

I expect LOTS of Trump "chin music" at the debates in the general on this score.

He'll throw right at her head.

I think that would qualify under the everybody does it clause.

There is “movement” among the ‘Rats & it’s not trending in Hilly’s favor. The McAuliffe situation is VERY interesting - he claims he’s not worried about it at all, totally shocked he’s being investigated, but as a family member pointed out today, he looks like he’s lying when he talks about it. He keeps saying it’s about one $120K contribution from a Chinese donor, but it’s more than that ... he knows it. It appears that the Clintons’ ability to protect those that have colluded with them in the past may not be working so well any more. I think going after T-Mac (long-time friend, bag man, sitting Gov who is supposed to deliver the Virginia vote for her in Nov.) is a shot from Obama/DOJ (they have to be allowing FBI investigation) across Hilly’s ample bow.

Another lie by Hillary. She told the media many times she was cooperating with the review process.

Hillary and her husband think they are above the law just like William Magear “Boss” Tweed was between 1853 and 1871.

The Guccifer deal is being finalized.

Yes, this one is not the end of the affair. The WaPo and AP have picked up the story, and their treatment isn't very sympathetic. Mobile devices were involved despite being specifically prohibited at the time. CrookedHillary was running the State Department like a high school drama club.

The report actually covers the last six Secretaries of State but she's the only one who refused to cooperate according to the story. That isn't going to help. And I think we've passed the point at which she could have offered up a staffer as a sacrificial lamb. And the FBI report is still to come. Ashtrays will be flying.

Set-up for her to get an administrative slap on the wrist for “policy violations”. This is going away.

This is separate from the FBI investigation(s). This is internal to the State Department under the Federal Records Act.

The FBI investigations are for mishandling of classified information and (if leaks are to be believed) potential corruption in the form of “pay to play” via the Clinton Foundation.

This is NOT part of the FBI investigation so I don’t think we can draw any conclusions about the FBI investigation based on the internal State Department compliance review regarding the handling of records.

Based on what we know, the pin has been pulled on this and it will explode at some point. The FBI cannot force the DOJ to bring charges, but their job is to recommend charges and make the best case possible. A large portion of the FBI exists to protect classified information and despite “political guesses” I still believe they will fulfill their role. If they didn’t, it would undermine their own authority and damage their reputation. Contrary to the suggestions of many here and elsewhere, the FBI (as an organization) is apolitical.

This issue will not go away for the Clinton’s as long as Trump has a microphone. Romney or McCain would have hardly said a word about it..... break out the popcorn.

Hillary will not go voluntarily, and she has too much dirt on the democrat leadership for them to make her leave. They know she’s as electable as a dead dog but they are stuck with her and can’t do anything about it.

I think they just go through the motions of supporting her, watch her go down in flames, and disappear into political irrelevance. “Gee Hillary, we tried, we tried really hard to get you elected like you deserved. But that mean old Trump cheated. Oh well....”

They let the party take the hit but serve their own personal interests. They don’t have to worry about their files in her possession anymore.

I don’t know for sure, but I think the FBI can investigate whatever they want.

Where the problem comes is that the FBI has to refer the legal matter to the “justice dept.” which can refuse to prosecute as we have been seeing with the email case (which is a matter of national security). They will probably refuse to touch anything WRT to her (it?).
