I think the path ahead (viewed by Obama, the upper crust of the Democrats, etc), is to let this simply play out and allow her to burn through her cash reserves....to dramatically lose in November, and finish her off completely as a political player. There’s no court case to brew up over this but her political identity is fairly screwed up. Only after she’s finished off in November....will the nation be Clinton-free.
It does pose the odd question though....what does a fairly big loser (assuming she loses by 15-percent of the vote) do in retirement? The Clinton Foundation will be finished off and have limited funds. Her pension via Senate days and the four years of State Department duty? I’m guessing she might pull in $80k a year. It’s enough for upper-crust to survive but you don’t go off to fancy five-star hotels on a weekly basis. And who would pay some $25,000 speaking fee for a big-time loser with no political clout left?
