“What if Trump gets over 70% of the votes, he will still net one delegate, and Lyin Ted get 40?”
No. The personal preferences of the “delegates” don’t count. The national convention chair counts the first ballot bound delegate votes of a state based on the primary election allocation, not by the delegate’s personal preference. Bound delegates don’t even need to attend to have their votes counted on the first ballot.
Thank you for the clarification. Can someone, anyone, explain to me why Cruz continues to burn money and alienate voters with his behind-the-scenes shenanigans? To my untrained eye, the only point of this fruitless endeavor is to steal the nomination from Trump. Am I missing something?
Do you know how the VP choice will be selected? Are the delegates at all bound for the VP choice of the nominee or can they swing that Cruz’s way?
“No. The personal preferences of the delegates dont count.”
Thanks for the info. So what we have here is more sCruze nonsense with he and his minions simply pi$$ing in the pot. This man should never again get the opportunity for national office. He is just a petty little Cuban transplant who think that the rules don’t apply to him, or that he can pull and Obama and simply subvert or ignore them. Texas, you should be ashamed to have thrust this worthless turd onto the national stage.
Ted Cruz: “I am the king of voterless states!”
