Fareed Zakaria -vs- Donald Trump Regarding Islam
Conservative Treehouse ^ | Sundance

Posted on 05/24/2016 4:45:13 AM PDT by detective

CNN broadcast a one hour special yesterday called “Why they hate us” discussing why adherents to the most authentic interpretations of Islam hate the United States.

Overall, the broadcasted presentation by Fareed Zakaria was good; actually, very good. Perhaps one of the best one hour presentations in quite a while. The content was engaging, the historical references were well presented and well outlined…. until a fatal flaw. The common, disconcerting and uncomfortable fatal flaw.

"Islime is not a religion. It deserves none of the First Amendment protections given to religion in this country."

Absolutely correct! Islam is not religion and has no protections whatsoever. In fact our constitution protects us from islam.

Can you explain?

I know some Texans but I’ve always lived on the west coast.

Our Constitution does. Our politicians do not.

They have recognized Satanism as a religion now. So Islam is in the clear.

Aria: Maybe you said it best in your post #17: “Maybe you’re just stubborn.”

Us Texans (speaking for WTX here) are just normal folks in love with the American ethos. We work hard all day, whether drilling for oil, herding and grazing our cattle on the hard-scrabble or clearing mesquite brush to avoid a wildfire. We make our own way, not what others think we should do.

Friday nights are for high-school football or, in the summer, they are for Texas-League baseball (go Rockhounds!).

Saturday, after normal chores we take some rest (I like to hang out and read in the hammock) and then maybe do some “boot-scootin” with some Shiner Bock in the evening.

Sunday, we head for the local church and confess to God that we ain’t the greatest folks on Earth. We go grocery shopping and call it a day.

Monday, we start it all over again and look forward to Sunday (see above).

If anyone can please tell me; why ain’t that Texan or American?

I saw the show last night and was somewhat surprised at the content. It was actually a pretty honest presentation.
A rarity from CNN.

Islam cannot be reformed.
Islam in its purest form can be seen today in ISIS.
ISIS is doing exactly what Mad Mo prescribed in his book.
Adherence to his instructions leads to beheadings, rape, cruelty and death.
Mad Mo made it so.

Excellent articles and posts. I would add that Mr. Trump’s proposals are just triage that is needed after many years of our willful neglect of the Islamic problem. Even more actions will need to be done to protect our future generations but Trump’s efforts are a great start. It is amazing being here in the ME and seeing Muslim to Muslim nation’s immigration policies that are so much tougher than ours and yet the media stays silent....on purpose.

I can understand what you just described but I still don’t see why your life in Texas is the reason you won’t click on The Conservative Treehouse - where there is frequently extremely good reporting and discussion.

Sundance supports your way of life and is doing his best to fight those who are trying to destroy it.

Growing up and always living on the west coast my life is different but that doesn’t mean better...in fact it might mean worse since I’m probably more involved in a rat race than you are. But it’s my life...and we are all in this fight together to protect our chosen American way of life.

Sundance, as provided here on FR, is something I will read. Click-thru to the C-Treehouse? Not so much.

We folks out here ain’t much on running off to a blog-spot with all the attendant FLUFF and tracking cookies. As humblegunner would say, “Why not post the entire article?”

There’s really only one way: Help the majority of Muslims fight extremists, reform their faith, and modernize their societies.

And be condemned for imperialism, nation-building, trying to impose "western culture and values" on other cultures. Have our military's hands tied by impossible rules of engagement. Be sucked into an endless quagmire of inter-tribal hatred and bigotry. Pour billions of tax dollars into a situation that won't change, because you can't dictate from outside a change in cultural values. And even if you could improve the value system of some, you'd be accused/condemned of proselytizing them to a Judeo-Christian system, and degrading their "religion".

Not going for the click-bait.

I'm with you...

"The content was engaging, the historical references were well presented and well outlined…. until a fatal flaw. The common, disconcerting and uncomfortable fatal flaw." Pure clickbait. I have to listen to Fareed Zakaria to find out what the "fatal flaw" is? No thanks.

Not even satanism extends into all realms of personal endeavor like islime does. Religion (if you want to call it that) is a part of islime, but there's much, much more to it. It is social. It is political. It is legal. And there is no separation between the "religious" aspects and the others.

How many businesses in Christian countries have to have prayer rooms? Yet islime requires them, because when the howler monkey calls his brainless bots to "prayer," everything stops. How many countries take their laws directly from their "holy" book? Islime does, in the form of sharia. How many cultures restrict what music can be played, what clothes can be worn, and what art can be produced to align with the predominant "religious" sensibility? In islimic countries, young men can be executed for failing to grow a proper beard.

This is NOT a religion!

“Not going for the click-bait. I’m not a fan of C-Treehouse cuz I’m a Texan.”

You really should read this article. It is an excellent summary and analysis of Islamic terrorism and the failed policies of the politicians. It also reviews the dishonesty of the media.

But if you choose not to that is your decision. That is ok too.

If it is really THAT good, the member should post the whole article instead of expecting all of FR to “feed the kitty”.

It’s Click-bait.

“the member should post the whole article”

Over 90% of the articles on FR are excerpted. There have been times when I have tried to post an entire article and have received a message that the article must be excerpted for copyright reasons.

But if you don’t want to read it then don’t.

:: if you don’t want to read it then don’t. ::

It’s not that I don’t want to read it, I do not like adding to the financial success of blog-spots. The sites look at the click-thru information and provide remuneration based on click-bait numbers.

Me no likey.
