A judge found Baltimore police officer Edward Nero not guilty today on all four charges for his role in the events leading up to the death of 25-year-old Freddie Gray.

Nero, 30, had been charged with second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and two counts of misconduct in office, all stemming from his actions during the initial stop and arrest of Gray, who suffered a catastrophic spinal injury while in police custody. Gray died one week later on April 19, 2015, and his death sparked days of violent protests in Baltimore.

Nothing like a Stalinist political prosecution. At least, no one owns that Judge.

Same judge for the remaining defendants. Wonder if this verdict foretell's what's to come?

The Department of Just Us can still go after him on alleged civil rights violations.

Or the state can keep calling him as a witness in the other cases, and if they can ever trip him up on his testimony in the various trials, go after him for perjury.

IMO if the media would ignore them there wouldn’t be as much “acting out”!

Nero had a smart lawyer. This case was way to politicized. It was best to leave “the truth” to a level head.

“A bunch who often rallies behind criminals, or an unaccountable power structure which will do almost anything to protect one of their own, even when negligence if not outright abuse or other criminal action seems to be present.”

Who exactly/which side are you referring to? The Prosecution or the Defendant?

The trial was conducted by a well respected black judge. Officer Nero chose to have his case decided by the judge, as is his right. Many black lawyers have said this is the correct verdict in this case. Even the attorney that represented Freddie Gray’s family in their lawsuit against the city agree it was a just verdict.

My personal experience as a juror on three criminal cases in Baltimore is that the jurors do take their responsibilities seriously and try to give an objective verdict.

I am a white male, and I was the foreman on the case of a black man charged with raping a young white woman. The judge was a black man. There was only one other white on the jury. He was the only one who voted to acquit, and the blacks were the ones who convinced him to vote guilty.

Remember who you are getting your news from. Baltimore has its problems, for sure. Just like every big city. But it is not the hell hole it is portrayed as. It’s actually got a lot going for it.

The ferals need an excuse to loot and riot; this Not Guilty verdict for Officer Nero will do just fine. We’ll soon watch the ferals in their natural habitat, doing what they do best.

I am eager to find out how Trump will choose to put down the ferals once he becomes President.

Believe Trump will not tolerate rioters destroying property. Without the order by State Governors he might Federalize the National Guard and pound some sense in the rioters. Damn States have let this go on too long and it is evident they don't give a damn as long as it is black rioters and their supporters.

Reminds of the Yorktown at the Battle of Midway when the Japs hit her hard and then she bounced back the same day. They hit her a second and final time and she was scuttled, never to fight again.

Freddy Gray would be alive today if he hadn’t smashed himself about in the police van. He was a multirepeat drug offender and put himself in the position to be arrested. The great society spend 21 trillion dollars enabling his grandparents, parents, and peers in becoming do nothing, parentless government wards. Mayor srb needs to give them space to destroy and participate in undocumented shopping tonight. The facts and evidence haven’t and won’t deter mosby, lynch, and just us.

Yorktown was hit by aircraft twice. After the second air strike, she was manned by a skeleton crew and taken under tow. She was hit a third time (and sunk) by a Japanese submarine. Also sunk was the destroyer USS Hammond, which was towing Yorktown.

Since none of them were stopped last time, they will once again yell and scream, break store windows, set fire to buildings, steal alcohol, loot TVs and electronics, and not be arrested for it.

Thanks NM, I stand corrected. I knew the details were more than I posted but I had to truncate due to smartphone-skill limitations:-)~ What I really wanted was to post something for later read. The point is, Baltimore may have been brought online after the first round of pointless riots but is going down again and will probably stay down - as a viable center for commerce.

The closing arguments were on Thursday. No verdict on Friday was most likely to prevent violence.

Finally getting a good look at how Rawlings-Blake and Mosby, who are supposed to be responsible stewards of the taxpayer money, are handling their duties. Chances are, they’ll lay out millions more on the remaining officers. One-party rule Dem cities deserve the governance they get.
