Truer words cannot be spoken.The police on the island cater to the rich and the homeowners DO NOT need to rent their dwellings. It is not even worth pocket change to them. It is SO STRICT over there that only kids have fun. The cops there are pathetic.

I just let my eleven year old son drive a golf cart today. I was done dragging the baseball field and I let him drive it back to the garage. The head of the league saw us and didn't say a word. No cops came and arrested me. I don't have to fight a court battle and my son got to drive a golf cart - he was thrilled.

Shame isn't it that we've become a nation of pansies.

A golf cart can’t be licensed for street traffic, so why would you need to have a license or be “of age.”

It can be if it can maintain 25mph and has the usual safety equipment ,, lights , wipers , brake and turn signals , seatbelts... Just a year or two ago the golf cart manufacturers were selling every “LSV Low Speed Vehicle” they could because the $7500 tax credit made them free to the buyers...

"Enviable"??? No. I'd say that's what caused this fiasco. And who knows how many more.

Why is this any surprise with the maniac liberal country we now live in? Talk to your grand parents to see how great we were back in their day - none of this current stupidity.

The past few years I've been reading a lot of bios about my heroes from the '50s-'70s. Over & over I notice every day things we took for granted back then that would get the SWAT team called on you now. The frog is boiled. It's like the Berlin Wall fell and East Germany came here.

I would quibble with one thing you said. It's not just the liberals who caused this. The statist Republicans hate liberty every bit as much.

My grandad would tell me stories when he was a kid growing up in Queens, NY and how at eight he’d hop a subway to Manhattan to visit his mom at work; or the time he’d ride the subway to Canarsie, go to the beach and ride back. Never once hassled or anything. To him it was no big deal. Now a kid can’t go two blocks to a park to play without the cops showing up at the door. It’s the insane liberal world we live in today.

I’d get my grandad talking about his youth and today he’d be in reform school. Oh, forgot, liberals ended reform schools and thought that if those kids were in public school they’d see how good kids acted and then become like them. Nope, they took over the schools.
