This week, students at Portland State University decided to take a break from whatever studies they have and make fools of themselves. They staged a “die-in” to protest the fact that police carry guns. That’s right. They want officers unarmed.
“So, I do believe I have mentioned the die-in before—what that entails is a lot of us who are abused so to say…we’re going to be laying down in the street outside so [the president] can see us so he knows what the Board of Trustees does to us, which is it kills us,” one protester explained.
The video starts with the students chanting “We want real diversity! Not a police-state university,” then it shows some 200 of them laying down, blocking traffic with signs and their “die in.”
“Whose streets? Our streets!” they chanted, along with “Black Lives Matter!” and “Disarm PSU! Disarm PSU!”
The group “Disarm PSU” is a student group that was founded two years ago after the school voted to arm campus police officers. The raucous group has staged several protests before, but the school said they will not give in to their demands by disarming campus police, CampusReform is reporting.
Among the amplified comments from the students was this gem: “The police are a tool of capitalism to control people in the state they are—staying in slavery, staying in poverty wages, staying in ridiculous working conditions.”
I’m pretty sure they haven’t seen the working conditions in most socialist countries.

I agree with them. It’s time to disarm the urban police departments and let the elected sheriff’s departments resume deputizing trustworthy citizens when needed.
And neighborhood vigilance committees will do a far better job of handling local criminals than do the politically-aligned police departments.
There’s no better way to discourage burglary and vandalism in your neighborhood than to decorate street lights with dead burglars and vandals.
That’s another school I won’t be recruiting from.
One can hope they will outgrow it, but I have my doubts.
Stupid is as stupid does. On that day it was the “die-in”.

At least the guys are hetero? Likely downside: a visit to the Student Health clinic.

Anyone who doubts America’s decline only has to remember that 40 years ago, when I was at school, campus security at most major universities consisted of unarmed retired cops, who spent most of their time at the lost and found office, checking office door locks, and directing traffic at campus events.
The cops put their lives on the line to protect the sorry a$$es of these useless idiots. What this is really about is showing their hatred for the country they live in.
College doesn’t care if they go to class or not, as long as the tuition is paid!
I hope the law enforcement officers know that they’ll be a lot easier to drag the bodies out if they field dress them first.
Instant expulsion, a big fat 0 on each Final and a note attached to their transcript. Their parents should be called to come pick up their little snowflakes because they obviously don’t know not to play in the street so can’t be trusted to get home safely. Next semester, the school should include a stupidity deposit that is returnable when the kid graduates without pulling stupid stunts that interrupt the day to day proceedings of the university.
Noticing there isn’t one black person in that group.
Don’t they realize they’re advertising they have no means of protection? Rapists are likely taking note who are easy targets.

That was what my college days were like, too. I don’t recognize today’s campuses.

Yeah, I know...But Ohio State did threaten those who were doing the sit-in at the prez’s office...That stopped that one...
