Sadly, it seems, the "greatest generation," and those who immediately followed them, allowed the enemies of individual freedom (the so-called "progressives") to hijack their government's "education system" from top to bottom.

The consequences of that hijacking are several generations of indoctrinated children and adults who do not understand that "government is power" and that power, once entrenched, leads to loss of freedom for all but the political class.

In the 1960s in college, I was fortunate to enroll in a really good Philosophy course, where we mostly discussed topics, the emphasis being logical outcomes.

One discussion was what would happen if medical advances occurred that allowed massive improvements in health care, but the cost of many of these cures was so expensive it overwhelmed every other expense. Was it ethical to have such cures if they'd only be available to those wealthy enough to afford them?

That situation is what we've got. Modern medical care has gotten so expensive that it's not realistically in the reach of everyone. The only answers are to ration it out and decide who should live and who should die. Determinations will be made which involve who is worth saving.

What's the answer? Stay on the edges and be really self aware about any medical care. It'll save you until your time is up, maybe.
