Ben & Jerry’s co-founders Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield visited North Carolina Central University in Durham to launch a national campaign that includes a new ice cream flavor, Packed Fudge, with nuts.

This is another “Target” situation.

Ben & Jerry’s is owned by Unilever, one of the largest food corporations in the world.

Like Target selling cheap plastic stuff from China, B&J’s sell “ice cream,” a common commodity, into a crowded market. So their marketing angle is, like Target, to grasp the hipster/progressive mode, and use it for cheap, cynical, money-making purposes.

Until now, they have not paid for the high risk of this marketing ploy. Target has learned - when you play with dynamite, it can explode in your face.

One wonders if they actually spend time working on their ice cream products or are they just doing Liberal politics 24 x 7 x 365 it seems?
We never hear about them donating cases of ice cream to troops stationed in the desert, providing dairy products as disaster relief, or similar.

If I really like a product, I’ll ignore boycotts usually. I turned against these two chuckleheads years ago because THEY ruined their product with propaganda packaging/naming.

I wouldn’t be shocked if the owners are screaming libs, but Talenti Gelato is the reigning champ in mass marketed fancy pints. The overall taste of their line is “clean”, not overly sticky and gummy. Careful, a pint can disappear before your eyes.

Gelato typically has less fat, so many of their flavors are around 200 calories a 1/4 cup serving. The clear plastic jars are also useful as storage containers later.
