Dumb. He should know better — that this is exactly the kind of things that papers pick up and it comes back to bite him.
In this day and age people need to be very careful what they say, even when they think the conversation is private and most certainly when two or more people are present.
It would be dumb if a viable candidate had said what this guy said. But this guy is a no name nobody with an extremely small chance of getting the Republican nomination and this just put his name in the news for the first time.
