Although I still do not trust him, I will pull the lever for Trump, as I did for Romney and McCain before him. What concerns me for him is those around me, the ones who do not vote in primaries, but do vote in the general. Many of them are so disgusted with the choices, they may stay home. I hope this is not as widespread in general as it is around here.

Here is a thought that keeps me up at night.

Under the 20th Amendment, the new Congress takes office on January 3 but the new President does not take office until January 20. That means that if the Democrats retake control of the Senate (which is looking very likely right now) then regardless of who is elected President, Senate Majority Leader Chuckie Schumer will have almost three weeks to easily push through confirmation of all of Obama's outstanding nominees, from the Supreme Court to the district courts and every federal agency.

The only reason that Harry Reid did not unilaterally abolish filibusters for Supreme Court nominees when he unilaterally abolished filibusters for all other presidential appointments, was because there were no open Supreme Court seats at the time. Chuckie Schumer will abolish Supreme Court filibusters within 15 minutes of taking over.
