employers”. They are the low life scum that is causing the
problem in the first place. They need to pay. Everything they
own confiscated as ill gotten gains and a mandatory 20 year

I posted this anecdote a while back. It was seen in a late 1990s Texas newspaper.

One Saturday night at an ER, it was unusually quite, no cut/shot/beaten people being brought in. The staff wondered what was up. A nurse went outside for a fresh air break and saw that someone had illegally parked a van the same color as “La Migra” by the entrance door.

The staff later joked that when they wanted an easy night, they were going to park a green van by the door.

Maite Arce of the Hispanic Access Foundation: “It’s such a shame that something as simple as the uniform and it’s similarity to the border patrol’s uniform — in the coloring — could be very threatening to certain segments of the Latino population. So a discussion about that is going to be really tough.”

So, Ms. Arce...have you considered asking yourself a probing question, such as..."What is it about my life and the way that I conduct it that makes me fear apprehension and arrest by agents wearing any type of uniform, irrespective of color or appearance?"

Ms. Arce...if you answer that question honestly, and take the appropriate steps to rectify the glaring issues that answer will reveal, then I guarantee you that your concerns about any kind of uniforms will completely disappear. ;-)
