Pocahontas would not be amused. She was from the Powhatan tribe who spoke an Algonquian language. The Cherokee language is related to the Iroquois language--a different language family.

Liz Warren got her job at Harvard Law School because of her Cherokee heritage. I think we have to accept her claim. The alternative is to think that the people who run the Harvard Law School are a bunch of fools who were easily taken in by a spurious claim and surely we wouldn't want to think that.
