Ted Cruz is highlighting recent criticism from former House Speaker John Boehner in a new fundraising pitch for his 2018 Senate campaign.
Cruz's email pitch to supporters said Boehner's attacks proved the importance of his fight.
"Remember when he called me 'Lucifer in the flesh?' Well, he didnt think that was far enough. Now the ringleader of the Washington Cartel is celebrating our defeat by saying, 'thank God that guy from Texas didnt win,'" Cruz wrote, noting both Boehner's previous critiques as well as new ones made this week.
"This is just another sign that the establishment in Washington has learned nothing over the past year. The truth of the matter is they wont stop attacking me, because they know I wont stop fighting for you."
The pitch is the latest sign that Cruz won't lift his foot off the campaign pedal after ending his presidential bid last week.
It's not the first time he's fundraised off Boehner's remarks. His presidential campaign sent out a fundraising pitch last month after Boehner made the "Lucifer" remark.
The two never saw eye-to-eye in Congress, sharply disagreeing over Cruz's role in the 2013 push to defund ObamaCare, which led to a politically costly government shutdown.
“...his being anti-establishment suits me just fine and if you dont like him that makes me think he is doing a fine job.”
So now, after hiring Jeb’s finance guy, taking insider money, his wife being involved with the Council on Foreign Relations, Goldman Sach, etc., you still think he’s an outsider? Wow, the MJ in Texas must be some really good stuff!
I just have a nose for GOPe liars ever since these same GOPeBush people sabotaged Sarah Palin during her VP run.
From inside the McCain campaign.
So I smelled a GOPeBush rat in Cruz in 2013. Was proved right.
We don’t want you, you slimy lying Canadian LAWYER.
Take you loony ‘talking in tongues’, snake handling father and slither back to Canada where you belong.
Your kidding right?
How does Heidi stand this? She truly must be worried sick by now, about the stability of her husband.
“How does Heidi stand this? She truly must be worried sick by now, about the stability of her husband.”
Shared delusions, perhaps.
I hope they find a conservative in Texas to run against Ted. I wonder if Rick perry will run for the seat.
“Clean out your own damn stall, California! Were doing quite well without your advice!!!”
It’s called “Free” Republc! Where you can say what’s on your mind! Texas’ big cities, (and Austin), are as much big $hit holes as are Los Angeles, SF and Berkeley, so knock off the “holier then thou” crap. Oh, and I forgot to include that “police free fire zone, Whacko! I will say, at least you have a very good governor! You ought to clone him and put two of him in as your Senators.
He would clean Ted's Clock
Such is Politics. No biggie.
No kidding.
That was my thought, too. If Texas wants him as a Senator it should be with the proviso he proves his citizenship PRIOR to going on the ballot for re-election. Don’t think he will do that since I think he knows it would be problematic for him on the next Senate race, and dash his hopes forever on his Presidential aspirations.
I used to get those emails. Heidi is worried sick please send money.
What do I care about Heidi?
The constant begging for money is astounding in its arrogance.
Interesting. Shiny object diversion. Kabuki theater.
Yep. Having wild “leftists” protesting you creates sympathy for GOPe types. Like the masked “Iraq war protesters”...
On youtube somewhere is the hired troll who worked with campus security to pretend to protest John Kerry when he was running for office. He made GMA the next day.
Paid trolls, fake election year conflict — hoax news.
It’s a Uniparty!
Goodness. Ted is addicted to campaigning. It is not normal to drop a Presidential bid and immediately start campaigning for a different election two years away. Most people would take some time to decompress. Ted is really hoping that Trump loses, in my opinion, so he can immediately start campaigning for 2020.
