n Thursday night on Fox News’ “Hannity” show, Trump went after Jeff Bezos and Amazon following reports that the Washington Post (owned by Bezos) is deploying reporters to vet every aspect of Trump’s life.
“[The Washington Post] is owned as a toy by Jeff Bezos who controls Amazon. Amazon is getting away with murder tax wise. He’s using The Washington Post for power so that the politicians in Washington don’t tax Amazon like they should be taxed. … [H]e’s got a huge antitrust problem because he’s controlling so much … What they’ve done is he bought this paper for practically nothing and he’s using that as a tool for political power against me and against other people and I’ll tell you what, we can’t let him get away with it … .
“I just heard, they’re taking these really bad stories, I mean they’re wrong, I wouldn’t even say bad, they’re wrong and in many cases they have no proper information and they’re putting them together, they’re slopping them together and they’re going to do a book and the book is going to be all false stuff up because the stories are so wrong and the reporters, I mean one after another. So what they’re doing is — he’s using that as a political instrument to try and stop antitrust”

I don’t like his response at all. First of all, anti-trust laws, foisted upon us in the early days of the Progressive era by the likes of Teddy Roosevelt, are a bad idea that ought to be eliminated because they are inconsistent with free-market economies and can be abused for political reasons.
Is there anybody who really thinks that Office Depot and Staples ought not to be permitted to merge?
Second of all, it sounds like Trump is threatening to use government power to attack his political enemies — a la Bill Clinton and even Barack Obama.

Yes. But Trump is also subtly suggesting that as President he might use anti-trust laws to go after Amazon because Bezos is attacking him.
I cancelled my account this morning...NO MORE AMAZON for me, nor will I post anything from Washington Post nor will I click on an article here that is from Washington Post...

Bezos knows Amazon is looking more and more like a monopoly and Trump might bust it up.
