Trust TRUMP.

He knows exactly who and what he needs to make America great again.

He’ll pick a partner he can trust.

We need go win the election and we can’t take any chances.

Therefore, Newt is a very bad choice.

Newt doesn’t win a state, and he doesn’t enhance a demographic. (This clearly eliminates Sessions, Hunter, Cruz, and Demint as well.) He has baggage out the wazoo. He supports AGW. He is way too old. He was a terrible husband. Any expertise he brings can be used if he had an advisory role, so he doesn’t need to be VP to do that.

Hopefully this is a diversion. Trump is smarter than this.

Works for me - plus, Newt has been thoroughly vetted from his last run - no nasty surprises to nip at his ankles....

Love the concept but the reality is he will need to get someone who can lock down a blue or purple state, and also to some extent appease the establishment.... at least on paper.

I love Newt but we need someone in place for 2020 or 2024 and who brings a state or two

A tall order

That would be a dumb choice.

And just yesterday it was one or another of two women governors. Today it’s Newt. Tomorrow, or maybe Monday it will be someone else.

I’d like for him to be the VP, but I don’t think he helps the ticket at all (except maybe to help secure the base, but the threat of Hillary should do that well enough.) We’ve been to that Trump is going to draw enough crossover votes to redraw the electoral map, but Gingrich would make that unlikely. His weaknesses tend to compound Trump’s - rhetoric that offends the snowflakes, high negatives. People who might vote against Hillary might also see Trump as just another politician with Newt by his side.

I’m on board for that but I think Chief of Staff would be a better position for Newt.

Newt is my number one choice I just think he will end up with another position of importance in the Trump admin.
