White House spokesman Josh Earnest taunted congressional Republicans Thursday in spite of a major court ruling against Obamacare, saying theyve been losing this fight for six years.
The Hill reports:
In a major ruling, Judge Rosemary Collyer, an appointee of President George W. Bush, said the administration does not have the power to spend money on cost sharing reduction payments to insurers without an appropriation from Congress.
Collyers decision doesnt immediately go into effect, however, so that the administration can appeal it.
A reporter asked Earnest at the outset of the briefing how problematic this was for the law overall.
This is not the first time that weve seen opponents of the Affordable Care Act go through the motion to try to win this political fight in the court system, Earnest said.
He added it was unprecedented that Congress would sue the Executive Branch over a disagreement about how to interpret a statute.
These are the kinds of political disputes that characterize a democracy, and its unfortunate that Republicans have resorted to a taxpayer-funded lawsuit to refight a political fight that they keep losing, Earnest said. Theyve been losing this fight for six years, and theyll lose it again.

The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Ryan keeps funding 0bamaCare.
Which is exactly why it won’t die.
Evil effs.
What fight? They keep on funding it for the regime.
Once something makes it into the maws of government, it never leaves.
Obama is a disaster, for sure - it will wind up costing the US Government and tax payers a lot of money, and will be a huge burden - but it will not be removed or repealed.
Nachum,
The truth is that Obama’s team is losing. The promises have never been filled, the American people continue to oppose this disastrous law, and the courts are figuring out that the administration is not implementing it in a Constitutional way.
So, despite the strutting of Valerie’s little ones, what we’re seeing is the boasting and pomposity of bullies—ones who know that in the end they’re in a very insecure position.
Obamacare will die, one way or another. They know it.
“””Ryan keeps funding 0bamaCare.””””
Ryan is a loyal hussein soldier. He does what his master wants.
Even with the subsidy it’s a high-deductible policy that is very expensive if you’re unfortunate enough to have to actually use it. For this reason alone, it will continue to be unpopular.
And, worse yet, very few are any better off related to health care than they were 3 years ago.
The White House has blackmailed Roberts for six years.
“fixed it”
I am waiting for the outcry from the low information voters because they now finally realize that they have been lied to because their refunds were hijacked by the IRS.
And the response from Republicans should be — I TOLD YOU SO; THE DEMOCRATS DID THIS TO YOU SO DON’T VOTE FOR THEM.
I love your optimism, but Obamacare will evolve into a single payor national health plan, regardless of who wins the 2016 election. Just too much power and money for special interests and the healthcare industry to turn loose of. Greed is the mothers milk of politics.
Losing our doctors of 20 years is a minor issue in comparison.
THANKS GOP CONGRESS
HE’S RIGHT
$136 Billion is NOT a “disagreement of interpretation”
I think you underestimate the unpopularity of this death panel law.
I pray that you are correct.
I work with many black Democrats. They do not disagree with me now when I assert that Obamacare and Obama are disasters.
Their silence is tacit agreement....since in the past they enthusiastically defended him.
Reality is setting in. Or has set in. :)
