A group of Democratic lawmakers, joined by religious leaders of various faiths, have announced a bill that would make it illegal to deny entry to the United States of any alien on the basis of religion.
Sponsored by Rep. Don Beyer (D-Va.) and co-sponsored by scores of lawmakers, the vast majority Democrats, the bill comprises a single short sentence: An alien may not be denied admission to the United States because of the aliens religion or lack of religious beliefs.
Although the text does not further define the alien in question, Beyers office said in a statement that the bill which hes calling the Freedom of Religion Act aims to prohibit the use of religious litmus tests as a means to ban immigrants, refugees, and international visitors trying to enter the United States.

So proclaim support for Shariah law as belonging to a group that seeks to overthrow the US government.
Let’s pass it then flood the country with Christians.
Aren’t they bigots? I thought the current liberal view is that we no longer use the term “alien”. Why would good liberals use a verboten word in their legislation??
Let a million lawsuits bloom!
Because if this thing gets into law, then any alien who is denied entrance for any reason will claim that the denial is really due to his religion.
Define Religion. By current “thinking” BLM would be a “religion”
Nah. Can’t let them Christians in ...
McCarran-Walter Act, the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952 was meant to exclude certain immigrants from immigrating to America, post World War II and in the early Cold War. The McCarran-Walter Act moved away from excluding immigrants based simply upon country of origin. Instead it focused upon denying immigrants who were unlawful, immoral, diseased in any way, politically radical etc. and accepting those who were willing and able to assimilate into the US economic, social, and political structures, which restructured how immigration law was handled.
Wasn’t it just a couple of months ago that the libs were screaming that there NEVER was a religious test for admission? Now they seem to say there is. They are as two faced as Janus.
Better make if the law that Islam is not recognized as a religion.
So long as islam is viewed as ONLY a religion, Western civilization is doomed.
islam delenda est
Democrats are stupid.
We are not banning anyone just because they are muslims, we are banning them because they are terrorists, or su[porters of terrorists, or terrorist sympathizers.
Not because of their religion. It just happens to be that mulsims are in this classification.
This is quite stupid. All the president would need to do is bar any alien from a specif region or nation. No need to even ask about their religion.
These friggin’ “progessives” won’t be happy until some rag- headed MFer detonates a nuclear device here.
Good. Then we ban anyone who belongs to an organization that promotes the violent overthrow of the US government: izlam is one that does.
Destroying faith in the Constitution didn't turn out so well for you, did it, Democrats?
“.....children ask if the United States of America hates their religion, he said.”
The answer to that should be perfectly clear. Any alleged religion that advocates murder, mayhem, and chaos, as well advocates death as preferable to life on this Earth might just qualify for the category of contempt.
This is great!
Let’s get all the dems on record who support the islamic invasion.
Great tool for the pubs running against them this election.
Because it is a legal term when writing legislation. I'm sure they'd prefer some other obfuscation but it is best to be clear.
Using terms such as 'undocumented' would allow the prospect of loopholes.
Stroke of pen, word of law, kind of cool. Both parties can play with EOs, I suppose.
