Going into this meeting they both know a few things: Trump does not need Ryan to secure the nomination; trump and Ryan both know if Trump wins the election, Ryan could cause him problems in the house; if Trump loses, good chance Ryan would not be speaker as GOP would take a drubbing. Ace up sleeve for Trump, he could actively campaign against Ryan and unseat him before the election making him lame duck.

The question is how does Trump approach this. Does he start off with What do you Want Ryan? Or does he tell him cut the crap and come on board or else? Since I don’t see what trump would have to give up from his core ideas about immigration, I don’t see a quid quo pro deal here, therefore point two, get on board or get wrecked. I’d love to be a fly on the wall of that room!

Trump will tell Ryan that he was adamant about Trump signing a pledge. Mr. Ryan, you signed the same pledge. Apparently you never had any intention of keeping that pledge. I’ll give you the floor.

Trump wants a pleasant, united convention- which he won’t get by firing Ryan.
Other than that Ryan has no leverage.

Ryan wants electoral help for his Open Border RINOs, don’t know what Trump can do for them except make campaign appearances.
