Don’t you think that some of those special studies students such as women’s studies, gender studies, black studies, Latino studies seem to be dumb as rocks. How did they get into college in the first place? I get the impression that maybe they were given special “scholarships” for having all the politically correct views and probably passed along by some politically correct activist teacher in high school.

Probably a bit of all that you suggest. The common denominator for all Leftist indoctrination is a desire to re-engineer the social order. Thus education is no longer necessarily directed at helping the students. Much of it is directed at breaking the institutions by which people preserve their heritage; that is, pass on their traditional values.

All forms of Leftist thought--to a great extent--assume that you can change people's personalities & predilections by re-engineering their social environment. You find different nuances of this in different approaches; but Communists, Nazis, Social Democrats & politically correct Democrats and "never/Trump" type Republicans, all suffer to a considerable extent from a Compulsion For Uniformity, and see "education" as a major tool in suppressing resistance, as well as for purposes of indoctrination. The make believe fantasy that anyone can benefit from College--made possible, in part, by special studies--is part of their tool box.
